This Rebellion Has It's Cause

Chapter 10

Attempting to hide me and Austin's confusing little game from Alan was harder than I thought it would be, considering my brother tends to be so damn nosey. On top of that neither of us can seem to keep from touching the other; this is both good and bad in a lot of ways. Good for me and very bad for the secret keeping part of our deal. So thankfully we haven't been hanging out as much, which will lower Alan's suspicions, so when Austin shows up at my place offering for me to come over to have a movie night with him I'm a bit shocked. Either way I agree and put on some comfy sweats, a tank top, and I grab a box of popcorn. By the time we get to his house, its dark out and the air is thick with the summer's heat.

"So what did you want to watch?" I question taking a seat on his couch next to one of his cats.

His smile is playful as he holds up an old Marilyn Monroe film that was on DVD, one of the few I knew thanks to my mother. It was the movie 'Don't Bother to Knock', where she plays a psycho babysitter and even though it was old it was still a great movie. I grabbed it from him and turned on the DVD player as he went to make popcorn.

I skipped through the small amount of previews while waiting for Austin to come back and take a seat on the couch. It didn't take very long for him to finally curl up next to me and hand over the bowl of buttery popcorn as I pressed the play button. We sunk into a comfortable silence as the movie played, but about an hour into the movie Nell, Marilyn's character, started necking with the lead male role and things began to change.

Suddenly I felt a soft warm air on the top of my shoulder, traveling up my neck, and then his warm lips pressed into my jaw. I smiled softly at the sensation before turning to him and putting my mouth to his. He in turn grinned against me as he framed my face with his hands and I brought my left hand to his neck as he parted my lips with his own. As the kiss deepened Austin pulled me onto his lap, his hands moving down to my hips, gripping into my skin a bit as he slid his palms under my shirt dragging it up to my ribs. I placed my hands on his shoulders leaning onto his chest, but I didn't stay there for long since he pulled me back a bit so he could discard my shirt and then his own. He connected his lips back over mine before moving me to lay on the seat of the couch and crawling on top of me. As he began kissing and nibbling on my neck I slipped my hands down his chest, to his toned stomach, and then the edge of his shorts.

Austin moved his lips back to mine and at the same time we began inching down each others bottoms. I knew full and well where we were taking this and I had no problem with it. That realization was both terrifying and wonderful, the thought that I am truly falling for Austin. By now we had our pants past mid thigh, but we had to abruptly stop when there was a knock on the door.

"Austin? Is Tristan in there with you?" Alan's voice calls through the front door and we begin scrambling to put our clothes back on.

I quickly rushed to the hall closet, opening it, and basically shimmied up to the shelf in the top before closing the door. After that I simply sat in the dark and listened as Austin opened his door.

"Hey Alan what's wrong?" He asked trying to sound concerned.

"Is Tristan here?" He asked, ignoring Austin's question.

I heard the sounds of shuffling, oh great now my brother is searching for me.

"No I haven't seen Tristy in a while." Austin tells him, which is actually true, but he just left out the fact I was here at this moment.

Suddenly the sound of the band Her Bright Skies starts playing, my ringtone. I hurriedly patted down my pockets in search of my phone when I remembered I left it on the kitchen counter.

The music abruptly stopped and then I heard Alan speak up again, "Really now? Then what's her phone doing here?"

Thankfully Austin came up with a quick lie saying, "She did stop by earlier."

"What for?"

"She was looking for you and said she couldn't get ahold of you, so she came here and I guess she forgot her phone."

"Okay, so... when are you two going to stop fucking lying to me? I actually happen to know how long this little fling of yours has been going on, but the shitty part is I had to find it out through my ex Darby!"

My jaw dropped, I should have known she would do something like that. As the saying goes, once a snake, always a snake. I would get her back for this later.

"Why does it bother you so much? Why should it matter if I have something going on with your sister anyway?" Austin finally snapped.

"She just got out of a really bad relationship and I don't want to see her get hurt again."

"I would never try to hurt her and you know that. Tell me, why do you really not trust me?"

"You've cheated on a girl once before Austin, I don't want to see you do that to my sister."

"When was that?!"

"Back in high school."

"Are you serious? That was so long ago and on top of that I was a kid. I dated the girl, for what? A week?"

"Whatever it's something that bugs me when it comes to Tristan. I don't want her to be one of your fuck buddies."

"It's not like that with her Alan, I actually want to date her, to stay with her."

"Then why haven't you done that?"

"It's only because she's afraid of what you'll think why don't you just lay off Tristan for a change? She isn't a little girl."

"I can't do that because I have to make sure she doesn't get hurt." Alan growled and then there was a slam of the door.

After that everything was quiet till Austin called out, "Tristy you can come out now."

I kicked the closet door open and hopped down to the floor before heading to the kitchen where Austin was leaning against the table. I noticed that he looked stressed and irritated.

"Hey I'm sorry about that." I murmur giving him a hug and he wraps his arms around me in return.

"It's fine, none of that was your fault." He replies resting his head against mine.

"Were you telling the truth?" I asked softly.

"What are you talking about?"

"Do you really want to be with me?"

Austin leaned back from me till he could see my face and nodded, "Yea, but I think we should start it off differently than what we've been doing."

"Like how?"

"I don't know, like actually go on a date."

I let out a soft chuckle, "Alright, I'd like that."

Afterwards we sat back on the couch to actually finish the movie and we just decided to not bring back up everything that had happened earlier, but I was definitely looking forward to what was next for us.
