The Life and Times of Valor

Valor’s POV

Austin Carlile was holding my hand. I repeat, Austin Carlile is holding my fucking hand. Inside I’m dying. This man saved my life and he is holding my hand. Better yet, he’s even more beautiful in person and wonderful. He was so nice to me and it made me feel so much better about being here. The rest of my band made their way over and everyone was crowded around the pong table. It was me and Ann verses Austin and Alan.
“Okay bring it on.” I said smugly.
“Someone is confident.” Alan chuckled.
“Oh you’re going down ginger princess!” Ann flexed.
“Eye to eye.” Austin rolled a pong all over to me.
I leaned over to whisper to Ann. “I may or may not fuck this up if he’s staring at me.” I tried to put the pong ball in her hand.
“Oh no! Valor it’s you and me! Mono et Mono!” Austin laughed.
“Fine!” I said in defeat.
I looked over at him carefully looking at him in the eye, scared and nervous with no sign of any confidence.
Ann leaned over to my ear. “Come on Valor, use your god given gift of seductions. I know you have it in you.” She whispered.
I half smiled and relaxed my expression and that did something because he began smiling back and on three we released. While his shoot went way over, mine landed in the middle cup perfectly.
“That’s my girl!” Ann shouted.
Everyone around us was hooping and howling and cheering.
“I’ll take back the pong ball sir.” I smiled at them.
“This girl isn’t what she appears to be.” Alan muttered shaking his head smiling.
The pong game was going and it was very close. Each team at two cups left. I knew what move I needed to make in order to win, but we’d have to be fast and no sign of having a plan. It was our turn and I gesture to Ann to go first. As she released her ball I bounced mine and in went both pong balls. Everyone went wild. Landon and Hunter were screaming in our ears.
“Holy shit! Did you fucking see that?!” Oli shouted.
I looked over at Austin and smiled while shrugging my shoulders.
“You’re sneaky you know that?” He laughed as I walked over to him.
“Drink up.” I said setting our two cups down on their side.
“Just wait, I’ll get you back.” He smiled as he began drinking.
I walked back over to Ann and the guys. I was feeling on top of the world. I felt like I hadn’t had this much fun in such a long time. I was surrounded by good people and I was making friends. Friends. Something I needed more of and honestly I hoped this tour would be bring some good with it.
Of course I had thought too much because just as I got over to my group I heard a familiar voice that made my heart stop.
“Valor?” Hector called out.
I turned around and seen him staring at me. He was short, covered in tattoos with the sides of his head shaved down and longer hair on top. He had his stupid fucking nose ring in too. He just stood there, staring at me dumbfounded with his stupid, cute fucking face. I felt anger boil up in me. Fuck this guy. He sucked more than any one person could possibly suck. I felt my knuckles ensuring my gold cross ring was on. I had never been more angry than this moment. I hadn’t seen nor heard from him in two fucking years. I was walking with haste towards him as he stared at me.
“Val?” He called again confused by my expression.
“Valor, no!” Ann called after me.
Everyone that was there hushed and looked over at the unfolding situation. I walked hard over to Hector who was staring at me dead pan, not understanding. I could hear Ann and Jay running over to stop me but it was too late. I stood in front of Hector for all of thirty seconds before pulling my arm back and punching him directly in his face.
“That’s for breaking my heart, asshole.” I stalked off hearing people talk behind me.
“Stay the hell away from her, you fucking hear me asshole?” I heard Jay yelling.
“She fucking punched me!” Hector argued you back.
“Let me tell you how many people give a flying fuck about you!” Ann shouted.
All I knew is that I wanted to get out of here. This is why I didn’t want to be here. I was walking toward our bus when I seen Jenna and Haley walking over.
“Hey girl!” Haley called out.
“Hey! What’re you guys doing?” I asked
“Just heading out to get a bit to eat, you down?” Jenna asked.
“I’m so there it’s sick.” I began following them.
“What’s that from?” Haley asked.
“She’s the Man.” We all laughed.

Austin’s POV

Seeing Hector get punched in the face was great. Even better is that he has a cross mark on his face. I don’t know the story behind it all, but I never really did like the guy. Even less now knowing Valor had a reason to punch him. I didn’t know her well or even at all really, but she seemed like a down to earth girl with a good head on her shoulders and probably didn’t deserve whatever he did to her.
“Dude, your ex girlfriend just kicked the shit out of you.” Andy from WeCAR said laughing at Hector.
“Ex girlfriend, huh?” I looked over at Hector nursing his wound with a cold beer.
“She’s fucking crazy.” He said shaking his head.
“Or maybe you’re just an asshole.” I said walking away.
“Fuck you.” I head him call after me.
I looked everywhere as everyone moved over to WeCAR’s bus for food, but there was no Valor in sight. I wanted to know what happened. When I got there I seen Ann and Hunter and the other guys I’m assuming are from Exit Here.
“Hey guys.” I joined in their conversation.
“You didn’t see Valor, did you?” Ann asked worriedly.
“No, I was about to ask you guys.” I took a drink of my beer.
“Ugh, no one knows and she’s not answering her phone.” One of the blonde dudes said.
“I’m sorry I don’t believe I caught your name?” I stuck my hand out for a shake.
“I’m Jay and this is Landon and Scott.” I shook their hands as well.
“What was that all about?” I asked hoping to get answers.
“It’s complicated.” Ann snapped.
“Come on Ann, he doesn’t mean any harm. Besides Hector is probably going around telling everyone how crazy she is.” Landon coaxed.
“Very well. Hector is Valor’s ex boyfriend. She was completely in love with him and he told her he loved her too. He left for tour and everything was fine and perfect in Valor’s world. I thought she was getting the happiness she finally deserved when he texted her telling her he didn’t want to be with her anymore out of nowhere. She was crushed. She basically lost it and almost had to be admitted. The fucker told her he didn’t have respect for her because she wanted to kill herself. I have never seen my best friend that broken before and I thank God every day she made it out alive. But that fucker deserved that punch and a ton more.” Ann was clearly pissed.
“He fucking sucks.” Jay said.
“And there’s nothing worse than sucking.” Hunter said.
“Who’s dick are you sucking now Hunter?” Ronnie Radke came out of nowhere.
“Oh fuck off. You weren’t invited.” Hunter snapped.
“Come on guys, it’s not a party unless I’m here.” Ronnie looked over at Ann.
“Hey baby, wanna come take a ride on me?” He slapped her ass and I would’ve choked him out myself but short Ann had him gripped by his shirt collar.
“Touch me again and I will cut your dick off. Do you understand?” She said through gritted teeth.
“Hey I like it rough.” He smiled.
“Get lost, pest.” I pushed him away.
“Fuck off Carlile.” I rolled my eyes.
“VALOR!” Ann yelled running forward.
I looked up to see Valor walking with Haley and Jenna, feeling a strange sense of relief as she looked over and half smiled at me.
“Where the fuck were you and who told you it was okay to not answer your phone?!” Ann pointed her finger.
Valor sighed heavily and looked sad, but trying to keep it together. This poor girl was going to have to be on tour wither ex boyfriend for the next three months. That sounded like it really fucking sucked. I made sure she was with her group of friends and proceeded to find my own band.
“Austin! You fucker get over here!” Tino yelled.
“Hey guys sorry.” I grabbed the beer Alan offered me.
“What’s the scoop?” Oli joined us.
“On what?” I was confused.
“On the crazy girl.” Alan said bluntly.
“She’s not crazy. She had her heart broke so she broke his face. I think that’s even.” I took a drink.
“Hector says she wouldn’t leave him alone. Had to block her on Facebook and everything.” Aaron stated.
“There’s no way she’s crazy. You can tell she’s been hurt. Her band gets signed to Warped Tour and she isn’t even excited about it. If she were crazy she probably would’ve followed him around like a lost puppy dog. Guy’s a fucking pussy and can’t handle he got his face fucked up by his ex girlfriend.” I spat.
“Someone is a little defensive over her.” Alan grinned.
“Oh shut up. She’s cute and really nice.” I simply stated.
Oli and the guys all looked around at each other sheepishly, when Vic of Pierce the Veil and Alex and Jack of All Time Low came running over.
“And you assholes didn’t even say hi to us.” They shouted.
“Where the hell have you guys been?” I gave them each a hug.
Jack obviously held the hug as long and as awkwardly as possible, but it was pretty much expected from his goofy ass.
“We got here late, we heard that Hector kid got punched by his crazy ex girlfriend.” Vic said.
“She’s not crazy!’ I shouted.
“Austin’s crushing.” Phil spoke matter of factly.
“Oh fuck off.” I went to grab another drink. Our cooler was placed carefully around the back of the bus so no one would steal. I heard muffled cries coming from a few buses over and decided I needed to check it out.
