I fucking hate the aftertaste

Today we were doing out first interview, or at least our first real interview. Not all of the band are going to be there. There will be Fay, James and I talking to them. We're going on stage straight after so we're all ready. We walked into one of the rooms at the venue and I saw a woman with two men that were setting up camera's and sound stuff.
"Hello." Fay said airily as he walked in.
"How are you all?" the woman asked brightly.
"Very good." I told her.
"Want a camera in my face." James said, making me roll my eyes.
"I'm Sarah," she introduced herself. "And this is Frank and David."
"Frank is my uncle." I smiled.
"I never knew that." Sarah replied. "Now shall we sit down and start?" she asked. We all nodded and sat on the couch. Sarah sat next to me with James on her other side and Fay next to me.
"Okay." Frank nodded. They started filming and Sarah turned to me.
"How are you doing?" Sarah asked, facing the camera. "I am here with Effy, Fay and James from Kill The Throne. How's tour?"
"Tours great." I smiled.
"Very exciting." James added.
"Now, before we continue I have to say - Effy you are looking beautiful right now."
"Thank you." I smiled lightly.
"Now you have an EP out. Can we expect an album after tour?"
"You can." Fay nodded.
"Okay, great," she said quickly. "Any ideas for the album, Effy?"
"Um you know . . . I'm not too sure. I always get ideas for my lyrics and sometimes I might get a little melody in my head but for the most part the guys that take the reins on that one are Fay and Matt." I explained.
"But what inspires your lyrics?" Sarah asked me.
"Anything," I shrugged. "Just my life. Shit happens, y'know?"
"Definitely," she nodded knowledgeably. "Your band is blowing up. I'm hearing more and more about you. After you've left a city kids are wearing your shirts. Now a lot of new bands find that hard to deal with, but you must be pretty used to it."
"Used to what?" I asked confused.
"The attention."
"Not really." I laughed awkwardly.
"I just meant with your father being who he is and the success of his band."
"My dad is my dad. My band is my band. Two completely different things." I shrugged.
"But your fathers success must make it easier to break into the industry." Sarah said brightly.
I sighed in annoyance and searched for a right answer. She was really annoying me. Our first interview and she didn't care about us. She didn't care about our band. It was all me and Pierce The Veil.
"Effy works very hard," Fay interrupted. "Even if her dad wasn't who he was she would have gotten the band together and started to make music. We still had to practice. We still had to work our asses off to book clubs. We still had to get music together and put it to a record label. No one appreciates how hard Effy works." Fay explained.
"When we started how many hours sleep were you on? Like two or three." James added.
"I don't even remember sleeping," I laughed. "I think I was awake for a week straight or something."
"A week! How is that even possible?"
"I have no idea." I shrugged.
"We have some fan questions." Sarah said.
"Shoot." Fay urged.
"What is it like having Vic as a dad?"
"Um... He's a good dad," I said awkwardly. "I don't know. What is it like having your dad as a dad?"
"Will you be touring with Pierce The Veil?"
"We have no plans to tour with them. I guess it could happen." I shrugged.
"What's it like being coached by your dad?"
"You what?" I suddenly snapped. "Can we end this here?" I stood up. They were all watching me carefully.
"I'm sorry, I don't know what you mean." Sarah said awkwardly.
"I think you do." I sneered. "I came here with the band to talk about us. About the music. We didn't agree to this to talk about my dad or my family. I'm done!"
"Ef, sit down." Fay sighed.
"Why should I?" I snapped. "Where the fuck is Ethan?!" I demanded.
"Sit down." Fay repeated.
"No."
"Effy, stopping building up a reputation of being a complete prima donna and sit your British ass back down!" James scolded.
"What's going on?" Ethan asked, walking into the room.
"I'm not doing the interview." I told him.
"Why?"
"They're not even interested in the band. It's all Vic Vic fucking Vic. It's bullshit!" I exclaimed.
"Effy, a word." he sighed. I nodded and followed him out of the room.
"What?" I asked.
"What? What? You can't just walk out, Effy."
"But it's bullshit."
"I know, but you do stuff like this and it'll get out."
"What do you mean?"
"We can pay them all the money to not show anyone the footage they have of you now freaking out. But it won't matter. People are going to see that."
"But what can I do? They already have it." I but down on my lip.
"You can walk out and make yourself look insane and become the new Courtney Love. Or you can pretend it was all a big joke that was rehearsed to see if the interviewer fell for it."
"You want me to do the last one, don't you?" I groaned.
"Yeah." he nodded.
"I hate you." I grumbled.
"Go on." he urged. I turned and walked back into the room. I plastered a large smile onto my face and waved brightly to everyone.
"Is everything okay, Effy?" Sarah asked anxiously. "I'm sorry if things came across in the wrong way-"
"Don't be silly!" I laughed. "You fell for our trick."
"I did?" she asked.
"She did?" Fay repeated.
"Yes, we've been planning my little freak out all week. We read an article about how a pop star just pretended to freak out to see what the reaction would be. We couldn't resist. Now shall we get back to the interview?" I asked lightly.
"Of course," she smiled warmly. "We have just been pranked by Kill The Throne." she laughed.
"Sorry Sarah," I smiled and reached forward to hug her. He hugged me back and we pulled away. I looked at Fay and saw he had raised his eyebrows. I rolled my eyes and saw him nod slightly. He knew. I might be smiling but I'm trying to recover. I'm still pissed off. I still need a pill right now.

Notes

Hey! Long time no see right. I don't know - I do actually have a real excuse this time! I promise! I've been focusing on a project I'm doing. I've put some of my jewellery up on etsy so I'm all consumed in that. If you guys want the link just comment or message me. But what did you think? Did you like it? Will Effy come off bad from the interview? Is she addicted to the pills? :)
