The Ginger Prince & Princess Leia

Chapter 10

The worst was my neck covered in varying colors of bruises but my collarbones were taking the longest to fade making it harder to hide. When I was changing a few days later Robbie called me out on them.
“What’s that?” He trailed his hand along my collarbone making me flinch.
“Nothing.” I pulled Alan’s sweatshirt over my head quickly covering the marks.
“You slept with him?” His voice was incredulous and I glared at him. Stepping back he held his hands up in surrender. “Sorry, stupid me thinking you’d have so fun and let go.”
“You of all people know why I’m hesitant.” I argued sadly. “Besides we’ve only been together for a few weeks.”
He nodded and looked down biting the inside of his bottom lip, something he did when he knew he was wrong. “Sorry.” I rolled my eyes and sighed punching him playfully in the arm as I passed by him. He reached out and poked me in the side before heading off in his own direction.
Making my way into town I scrolled through twitter. Fans were freaking out about our recent announcement. A day previous, Alan had posted a picture of us cuddling and wrote that he was cuddling with the girlfriend, since then I’d gotten everything from death threats to people asking when the wedding was.
“Kayla?” I looked up at the sound of my name to see a tall girl with bright blue hair. “Oh my gosh, it is you.” Smiling I pulled off my sunglasses and tucked them into my pocket.
“Hello, what’s your name darling?” She giggled and looked down pulling at the end of her hair.
“Julia.”
“Well, it’s very nice to meet you. I’m assuming you’re a fan.” She nodded still very quiet. “What’s wrong?”
She looked up with tears in her eyes and quickly covered her mouth with her hand.
“I made a promise to myself.” She sobbed, I quickly pulled her over to a bench on the sidewalk and sat her down putting an arm around her. When she had calmed down she looked at me. “I promised that if I ever met you I would give you a present.” She reached into her pocket and pulled out her wallet. “Will you be freaked out if I gave you my last blade?”
I was shocked for a second amazed that she wanted to share such an important part of her life with me, as a former cutter I knew it was hard to give up.
“On one condition.” Julia nodded quickly. “You have to sign it for me, and I promise I’ll keep it forever, as long as you don’t do that anymore.” I handed her a sharpie that I tried to always keep on me and she scribbled her name on the blade she had pulled out of her wallet. I popped open the back of my phone and laid it flat against the battery. “It’s been amazing meeting you Julia, I hope I see you again soon, and you’d better keep your promise.” She gave me a hug and thanked me. Signing one of her bracelets I headed off towards the restaurant.
When I walked in Alan shot up out of his seat and pulled me into his arms, “I was worried you’d gotten hurt.” Gently he grabbed my chin and kissed me making a few girls in a booth near the door giggle.
“I met a fan along the way.” Staring at me he led me to the table and reached out to grab my hands over the top.
“You don’t seem happy about that.” He was staring at me nervously and I smiled.
“She gave me her last blade, I’ve never been given a blade.” I was actually really touched that she would do that, and proud of myself for coming up with the signing thing so fast. Alan was watching me with a smile.
“It’s nice to know you’re helping. That you’re saving lives.” His hands squeezed mine gently and I smiled.
“Yeah.”
A waitress came over and took our order. Alan stared at me as she left his eyes flicking across my face.
“What?” I whispered scratching my jaw bone. He shook his head and looked down, the café was hot and I moved uncomfortably in my seat. My hair was pulled into two braids running down my back, wearing a cut out Blink-182 tank and skinny jeans I was still hot. We were close to halfway through the tour and currently in Austin Texas, where it was 109 degrees.
We ate quickly and headed out onto the street where it had gotten slightly darker. As we made our way back to the bus Alan grabbed my hand pulled me towards him. I looked up at the sky wearily and prayed it didn’t thunderstorm.
Alan opened the door of his bus as the first flash of lightening cracked across the sky. Curling into him I closed my eyes and let out a small shriek. He pulled me onto the bus where Austin, Tino and Aaron were sitting.
“I didn’t know you were afraid of thunderstorms.” Alan whispered pulling my chin so I would look at him. I was about to respond when thunder shook the bus. Shaking I crumbled against him and he brushed my now loose hair out of my face. “Come on.” He grabbed my wrist and pulled me to the back lounge where there weren’t any windows. His phone rang as he settled me onto one of the couches.
As he wandered off to answer it Austin sat next to me and pulled me against him.
“It’s okay princess you’re okay.” He mumbled running a hand through my hair. Thunder rumbled again and Alan came back in.
I ran to him and he smiled down at me. “You would have been fine with Austin.” He pressed a kiss to my forehead and pulled me onto his lap sitting in the corner of the couch.
“I wanted you.” Austin snorted and got up.
“Story of my life.” He joked as he left. Alan laughed and looked down at me holding my face in his hands.
“That was your brother, he couldn’t get ahold of you and wanted to make sure you were okay.” I winced as thunder cracked again squeezing my eyes shut. “He really loves you.”
Alan paused for a second and grabbed my chin, staring at me he sighed lightly and shook his head.
“What’s wrong?” I whispered and he flushed. Clearing his throat he looked at me again.
“I love you.” My heart stopped for a second and I stared back at him. I did love him, the way he sounded in the morning when he woke up, how he got excited before either of our shows, the way he’d pick his fingernails when he got nervous. His smile and laugh literally made my day, and when he kissed me, the world stopped spinning for a minute. He was still looking at me. “It’s okay, I shouldn’t have said that.”
I shook my head quickly. “I love you too.”
