Waking up in my own big bed that I could stretch in, in my own comfy pyjamas that had little green frogs on them and my nice smelling room is something I have missed over the past couple months of being on the road. Hannah only stayed for a week and it was nice having her here, she made us promise to go visit her in England. Today, as promised, I’m going out for lunch with my mom and her new man; I’m really excited because I have never seen her with anyone but my dad.

Mom told me to dress nice, I’m guessing to make a good impression but I really can’t be bothered because I’ve worked the whole time I’ve been home so I’m tired. I just slipped on some fitted black skinnies that I haven’t wore in ages and a t-shirt with braces and a bowtie printed onto it, this makes me look nice. I put my usual sunglasses and beanie on then left my room.

“Hey Ali, it’s time to go” Alex yelled from the kitchen, it sounded like he was eating. Why Alex, we’re going out for food? I grabbed my black sneakers that I had kicked off last night and my car keys before following Alex out of our apartment. “You could have put your shoes on” he smirked as I had to jump over the pebbles and stones on the ground.

“Shut up, we’re late anyway” I groaned, mom hates it when we’re late but I’m always late so I hoped up on the hood of my car so I could put my converse on to drive. “Is everyone going today?” I wondered getting in the driver’s seat. I hope everyone’s going because I’ve missed my little losers.

“Yeah and Nikki is coming too. Ace has been so grown up recently; I think he’s going to be a good dad” I smiled widely at that. Ace might only be 16 but I know that he’ll grow up and be there for Nikki and the baby. If he doesn’t I’ll just beat him up and make him do it.

Alex talked to me the whole ride about this band we liked as kids called Artic Monkeys; they’re headlining a festival we go to every year, its back near our home town. When we go to the Leeds Festival we normal visit our family members we have over there and stay with my grandmother for however long we stay. On rare occasions we visit my dad if he’s having a good week; I want to see him because I’ve missed him.

I trailed behind Alex as we walked into the restaurant we have to eat at, I regretted not dressing up because it was a fancy restaurant and I’m wearing sneakers, jeans, sunglasses and a beanie. Well done Ali, so bloody smart. “Ali, honey” My mom ran to me from the table “Oh, I’ve missed you so much.” She was wearing a cocktail dress with short heels, she dressed fancy but I never. Oops.

“Yeah mom, I’ve missed you too” I smiled as Alisa hugged me, she was in some jeans and a nice top, then Ace hugged me and thank the lord he was dressed similar to me. I gave Nikki a quick hug too and she had a small bump peeping out threw her dress. I’ve missed my whole family while I’ve been away, it’s good to be home but I’ll be back on the road soon and I can’t wait. The modelling shoots that I have been doing are fun but I prefer being on the road.

“Guy’s meet Robert” Mom put her arm around me and Alex with a big smile. “Robert this is my lovely twins Ali and Alex” I smiled over at the man. He was about 45, silver hair that was combed back and he wore a suit. Well mom picked a good one.


“Hey” Alex waved shortly at the guy then both of us sat next to our siblings at one half of the table. At the other half of the table was Roberts family, there was a young baby over that side too so I stayed away. I don’t really like babies, they creep me out. Mom and Robert sat at the top of the table with a big smile on their faces.


The meal was nice, Robert seems nice but none of us talked to the other family. Mom asked me about Hannah being over and how I should have brought Hannah to see her. Then Ace, Alisa, Alex and Nikki just asked me questions about tour for the majority of the meal and then when it came to dessert I asked all them the questions. As I suspected, I hadn’t missed out on much being away. They did phone me the majority of the time also so I was filled in by time we were leaving.


“Mom, we’re taking them back to our place” Alex called over to mom as we left with our siblings and Nikki. Mom just nodded while Robert helped her on with her coat.


I made Alex drive my car as I talked to everyone. In the restaurant we declared that tonight would be movie night and everyone would just stay over. Nikki had to phone her mom, but in the end everyone was staying. Our roommates would be down with movie night because foods involved so everything is sorted.

“Ali, want a jack and coke?” Callum yelled from the kitchen as everyone else turned the living room into a fortress of blankets and pillows.


“Yeah, don’t put any alcohol is the kids drinks” I said walking into the kitchen. Callum has a habit of forgetting my siblings are well under 21 and Nikki is over so I don’t want everyone getting to drunk because I don’t want her to see that the first time over at my house.


Josh, Callum and Alex shared a blanket and the big sofa; they all cuddled with each other while we watched the old X-men movies. I was on the other big sofa with Marie’s head on my shoulder and Alisa’s head in my lap. The cutest cuddlers go to Ace and Nikki, they were on the arm chair, Nikki was on Ace’s lap and he had the biggest smile on his face. This is what I miss about not being home, the closeness of my family.

Everyone woke up around noon the next day; we didn’t sleep in our beds last night we just passed out on the sofas. Today I had to start packing for the UK because Alex and I are going over then I’m meeting up with the guys to start tour.

“Ali” I heard Ace knock on my door just as I had finished getting ready to go shopping.

“Come on in” I yelled as I spiked my hair up a little and then I added my usual beanie on top of my short hair that’s growing fast. “What’s up?” I asked as he stood awkwardly in the door way.

“Can I come back home with you guys?” He mumbled as he messed with the bottom of his sleeves.

“Of course you can but why?” I patted the bed and he joined me.

“I want to see dad. I miss him, everyone is moving on with their lives and I just want him to know what’s going on with my life and maybe ask for some advice” I nodded and pulled him into a hug.

“Ace, you got to know that when we go see him, it’s not a nice place and dad’s not how he used to be. Just prepare yourself, it might be a good day but if it’s a bad day, prepare yourself for the worst” I warned him, I wish someone was there to warn Alex and I the first time we went to go see dad.

“I know Ali, but I need to see him” I nodded and kissed his head.

“Now get out of here, I need to go shopping” I shoved his head and he smiled.

“I’ve missed you” He muttered as he walked out of my room.

Marie and I went to the local mall because I had to get new ‘boy’ clothes to wear in Europe. Europe is different from the USA; it’s a lot colder so I have to buy jackets, jumpers and more clothes that I need to stay warm. Tour clothes were easy to buy but then we decided just to go buy our normal clothes so we started off in Forever 21.

“Ali, look how cute that guy is” Marie nudged me as I was looking at some shorts. I turned and my eyes bulged out my head. I grabbed Marie’s arm and pulled her into the changing rooms. “What?”

“That’s Phil and his wife. Phil’s in the band I am touring with” I whispered shutting the curtain to the individual dressing room.

“He won’t recognise you, you’re a girl now” She said gesturing to my outfit.

“Marie, we spent weeks together on that bus, I think he’ll recognise me” She rolled her eyes and took my beanie off. “Hey!”

“Shut up, I don’t want to stay suck in here all day” She put my sunglasses on my face and spiked all my hair up. She then made me tie my shirt around my waist so I showed off my boobs. “Okay, when we leave we have to talk the whole time” I nodded and we left the changing room.

I spotted Phil straight away, he was sitting on the seats outside of the changing rooms but he was on his phone. Marie and I talked about Hannah’s visit the whole time and rushed to the checkout with all our stuff.

Thank god the rest of the trip went great, we never bumped into Phil again and I bought so much stuff. We had some lunch and I couldn’t help but buy stuff for my new niece or nephew, the shop had too many cute things. The baby’s not due till September but I don’t care, I’m gonna be an Auntie.
