Space Enough To Grow
So bright
Alan POV
I was a little jealous of Kyle. He gets to sit next to Austin. I glanced at them a couple of times in class. Kyle was being a douche as always, holding his stupid football, playing a lord. Stupid. I saw them again after class, going to the lockers to play or something. I don't know. I went to the library to work on my lyrics. I was relaxed there, because it was mostly empty.
Writing lyrics was just a hobby. I never really sang, I don't think I can, but I was pretty got at writing, so why not. After an hour I stuffed a gazillion papers into my backpack and was on my way home. I crossed the street when I hear a familliar voice yelling after me.
''Hey Alan, wait up!''
I stopped and turned around, of course it was Austin. He was so cute and nice, it was biting me in the ass. I instantly got nervous and got sweaty palms. Didn't want him to notice he made my butterflies go crazy.
''Hey Austin, what's up?'' I said, hoping he won't notice how nervous I was. I put my sunglasses on.
''Are you going that way?'' He said and pointed right. I nodded.
''I live only a few blocks away.'' I said.
''Me too! 59 Evanston Street.'' He said and smiled at me. I was dying. It's really hard when you like someone you don't even know that well and you keep guessing if he's straight or gay or whatever, trying not to make a fool out of yourself.
''You live near me, I'm on Glendale Street, that's like 5 minutes away from you.'' I was happy he lives close. Now we can hang out more, but I doubt he'll want that when he finds out that I'm gay. Which is why I will never tell him. I mean, I'm not planning on telling him, but it depends on my emotional stability if I'll be able to hide it physically.
''That's cool. Do you wanna grab a drink later?'' He asked as we were walking home.
''Sure, where do you wanna go?'' I asked. Oh my god, did he really ask that?
''Well I was thinking you could take me someplace nice, show me around and stuff.''
No, literally - Oh my god.
''Sure, I know a cool place I go to often. I think you're gonna like it.'' We were getting close to the point where he goes left and I go right.
''We can meet here at…?'' I said.
''Sure, let's say at six?''
''Deal, see you later then.'' I said and raised my hand wanting to wave when he just pulled me closer into a quick hug.
''See you Alan.'' He said and turned around. I was just standing there all squishy, watching him walk in his direction.
I started walking home, giggling to myself like a silly little girl. Damn, this better be one hell of an evening.
