Forgive Me- Part 2

New Client

Amelia's POV

The blaring of my alarm work me up. I reach out and turn it off before rolling over and colliding with Jaime. God he's a deep sleeper, how does my alarm never wake him up? I groan as I force myself out of bed and get ready for work. The downside of working as a psychologist is that you have to look respectable; which means no skinnies, no baggy shirts and definitely no vans.

I end up dressing in a tight black skirt with a gold satin shirt, black heels and earrings. I braid my hair and twist it into a bun and while I'm checking my appearance in the mirror to make sure that I looked okay, Jaime comes up behind me and wraps his arms around me.

"You look gorgeous" he mumbled, voice still thick from sleep.

"Thanks, how come you're up?"

"There was a beautiful woman missing from my bed" he kissed my neck as he spoke.

"You're in a very loving mood." I turn around and kiss him and he pulls me close. He runs his tongue across my bottom lip, begging or entrance which I hesitantly deny. I pull away and he whines.

"I can't, I have to head to work"

"Or you can call in sick and stay here with me" he kissed my neck again and despite how very tempting his offer was I knew I couldn't accept it.

"I can't, I have a new client today, plus these kids need someone to talk to, I can't just bail on them."

He groaned before nodding "have you at least eaten?" I hesitantly shake my head "well you aren't leaving this house until there is food in your stomach."

He drags me downstairs and goes to pull out some eggs when I stop him.

"Jaime, I know you love making me a huge breakfast but I don't have time" he nods and goes over to the cupboard and pulls out a box of cereal and then the milk and hands it to me. "Thanks" I kiss him before quickly eating my breakfast then again before leaving for work.

I arrive about ten minutes before my first appointment so I rush into my office and pull out the files of the people I'll be seeing today. I read over them quickly before I get a message from the front desk saying my first client arrives. Callum, that's all I know about him, that his name is Callum and he was referenced to us by a Doctor Mitchel for showing symptoms of anxiety and depression.

I walk down to the front desk to great him. He's a nice looking kid, a bit scene maybe but I could tell he was very shy so I smile at him and ask him to follow me to my office. I invite him to sit down where he feels comfortable and he takes a seat on the lounge I have seated in front of the window.

"Hey Callum! So my names Amelia and I'm going to be the person you'll be talking to from now on okay?" I didn't like saying I was their psychologist or their councillor or anything like that because I feel that it's too daunting that way. Callum smiles at me before mumbling a hello. "I know you're nervous, and honestly I don't blame you. So today we're just going to chat and get to know each other a bit better. You can ask me any questions you may have and I'm going to ask you some okay?"

He just nodded and tugged on his sleeves.

"I'll start then. What are some of the things you enjoy?"

"Umm, I like art and music." He mumbled

"Really? Me too! What type of art?"

"Well I draw a lot and I've started stencilling"

"Awesome, I suck at stencilling, I get impatient with it."

"I love keeps me distracted for hours."

"That's good; do you have a photo of any that you've done?"

"Um, yea I have a photo of one" he pulls out his phone and scrolls through his photos before showing me a spray painting of Pierce the Veil.

A huge grin appears on my face as I look up at him.

"That's amazing Callum! Have you ever thought of sending them a photo of it?"

"You know them?"

"Pierce the Veil? I love them. One of my favourite bands"

"Oh, it's just that you don't really look like you'd be a fan"

"It's just the clothes; I have to look professional"

"That sucks, remind me to never become a psychologist" he said. I smiled happy that having a common interest has allowed him to open up a bit and be less shy and awkward around me.

"What do you want to be?"

"Well, I've always wanted to do something with art but artists don't really make much money and I don't want to work in advertising or anything like that"

"Hmm, that's quite the conundrum you've gotten into."

"Yea, tell me about it, everyone's pressuring me about my future but I can't find anything I think I would enjoy."

"Maybe you just need to think outside of the box"

"What do you mean?"

"Well you want to do art? What about a tattoo artist? You could work in a gallery? You could become a designer? There's a lot of stuff out there, things you wouldn't even imagine, and you just have to know where to look" he looked like he was thinking really hard about what I had just said.

"That's actually brilliant"

"Which?"

"A tattoo artist, I'd never even considered it"

"Well maybe you can look into it"

"I think I'll do that, mum won't like it though..."

"Tell me about her"

"She's a social worker and she's really strict. I can't play my music in the house, she yells whenever I dress like I am right now saying that I should take more pride in my appearance and stop punching holes in my body. She thinks my anxiety is a joke and that I just need to be out in those situations more. Hell, she even fucking ripped up the tickets I'd bought for me and one of my friends so we could go see Pierce the Veil when they come to play here."

"Seriously? Does she know how expensive they are?"

"She doesn't care"

"Bloody hell. What about the rest of you family, what are they like?"

"Dads not really around, he travels a lot for work and I only get to see him like once or twice a month. My little sister Grace is nice though, we're really close and she tries to stick up for me against mum."

"Yea I'm the same with my dad and siblings." I look at the clock and see the hours about up. Callum does the same and sighs.

"Is it weird that I don't really want I go?"

"Not at all, it's amazing how much just chatting can help. Hey can you do me a favour?"

Callum looks confused but says sure

"Send me a photo of that stencil? I think they would like to see it"

"How would you get it to them?"

"Can I tell you a secret that you can't tell anyone?"

"Of course, considering you're going to be keeping so many of mine I think that's fair"

"I might be dating Jaime"

"Seriously? That's fucking awesome!" I smile at him and nod. "Can you tell them I said thanks for making music?"

"Of course I can, now send me that photo!" He sends me the photo and I save it to my camera roll. He hugs me quickly before turning to leave. "Hey Callum?"

"Yea?"

"Keep next Tuesday free okay?"

"Okay?"

"Also, don't forget to make another appointment, same time next week?"

"Yea sounds good" he waves as he leaves and shuts the door carefully behind him.

The rest of my appointments fly past in a blur and I'm excited to go home and talk to Jaime. That boy payed for tickets and I'll be damned if he doesn't get them.
