Unlikely encounters

I knew that for mine and Austin's sake, I needed to not mourn the loss of my daughter for too long. For Austin because I knew he hated seeing me sad, and for me because I knew that if I stayed sad for too long, I would probably relapse...

"Good morning baby." I said, smiling up at Austin from the kitchen.

"um.. Good morning babe." Austin said, yawning and rubbing his eyes. "What are you doing up so early?" He asked me.

"I thought that I could make us breakfast." I said

"Oh, alright. What are you making?" He asked me

" waffles and bacon." I said.

"Ugh Kenzie I've told you, pancakes are better then waffles." Austin said rolling his eyes at me

"No way! Waffles all the way!" I said

Before either of us could say anything else, we heard the doorbell ring. I walked to go get it, and I heard Austin come behind me.

"Austin, I'm fine. Blake is gone. He can't hurt me anymore." I said

Austin sighed and nodded his head. I opened the door and I was not expecting to see my parents. I ran away from home, and I hadn't talked to them in 8 years. My mother gasped, and my dad shook his head.

"Mackenzie?" My mother said

"Um.... Hi." I said

"Could we come in to talk?" My mother asked.

I was about to say no and shut the door in their face, but Austin came up behind me.

"Of course, you guys can come in." Austin said, with a huge smile on his face.

When my parents saw Austin, their jaws pretty much hit the floor. I would be intimidated too if I saw a 6'4 man, but that's not why they were shocked. They were shocked because my boyfriend had tattoos and piercings. Thats a reason why I hated them, they were so judgemental. My parents walked in and sat on our couch.

"Me and Austin will be right back. Were going to get tea and coffe from the kitchen." I said.

I pinched Austin's arm and pulled him to the kitchen.

"What the fuck was that about?!?" I yelled

"Babe, don't you think you should talk to them? They obviously care if they took the time to find you and all. Just give them a chance." Austin said.

He picked up two glasses of green tea and I carried two cups of coffee. We sat them down on the table my parents were sitting at, and they looked at us.

"So, who is this Mackenzie?" My dad asked, looking at Austin.

"Mom, and dad, this is Austin, my boyfriend." I said happily.

"Well hello Austin. Were Mackenzie's parents. Where did you two meet?" My mother asked him.

"Well it's funny actually, you remember the Europe cruse we went on when I was 16? Well Austin was there and me and him were good friends. And about 7 months ago, he found me again and we've been dating ever since.." I said

"Austin, what do you do for work?" My dad asked

"I'm in a band called of mice and men." Austin said proudly

"is it a successful band or just one of those garage bands?" My dad asked.

I could'nt hide my anger any longer.

"Dad what the fuck is wrong with you? It is a successful band as a matter of a fact, and you don't need to judge Austin because of his tattoos or pierceings, okay? I'd appreciate it if you two left now." I said, standing up.

"Mackenzie, what has gotten into you?! We do not curse!" My mother said.

"Well if you had give any shits about me before now you would know that I do curse, and my name is Kenzie. Now if you don't leave right now, we will call the police." I said

Everyone was silent, and my parents left our house. Once they were gone, I was so upset. I needed a joint. I left through the back door and headed to Ryan's house to buy one.
