EIGHT MONTHS LATER
"Wow," Chloe breathed. "Avery, you look beautiful."
I twirled in my wedding dress. "I feel like it. Shit, you guys! I'm getting married today!"
My bridesmaids- Chloe, my friends Lights and Jenna McDougall, and Austin's cousins Addie and Sara- were all smiling at me. "I can't believe we're finally going to be related!" Addie cried.
I laughed. "This is so surreal."
"Five minutes!" Mère called. "Everyone's here. Austin looks very nervous."
"Good. Let him be." Jenna smirked.
"Jenny!" I rolled my eyes.
"Don't call me that." She said. "I'd smack you but you're the bride."
"Go sit down. I'll be on the aisle in two minutes." I instructed them. They did and I was left alone, trying not to cry. Today was the day.
The music started as I came out solo. I'd always thought the father walking the bride down the aisle was misogynistic so I told my papa not to. I smiled as soon as I saw Austin standing down there. Neither of us were religious so we weren't getting married in a church, instead opting for the Ebell Club downtown. Vic had become ordained to marry us just for the occasion.
"Welcome, everyone!" Vic said. "We are here today to celebrate the coolest-"
"Coolest?" I interrupted. "That's your vocabulary for my wedding?"
"Shut it. I'm ordained, you're not." Vic replied. "We are here today to celebrate the coolest couple in the history of ever. They've had some rough times but they never stopped loving each other and personally, I admire that."
"Austin?" Vic asked, indicating it was time for Austin to say his vows.
He looked at me. "Avery Marie, you are my life now. I have never loved anyone or anything the way I love you. It would be an absolute honor to spend the rest of my life with you."
I took a deep breath. It was my turn. "My whole life I was hoping I could meet someone who sees sunshine in me on my darkest days. It was you. You were the one I've been waiting for. We've been through so much. I've never stopped loving you and I never will."
"Austin, do you take Avery to be your lawfully wedded wife? In sickness and in health, til death do you part?" Vic asked.
"I do."
""Avery, do you take Austin to be your lawfully wedded husband? In sickness and in health, til death do you part?" Vic asked again.
"I do." I smiled.
"By the power vested in me, I now declare you husband and wife! You may kiss the bride!" Vic yelled. I put my arms around Austin's neck and we had our first kiss as a married couple.
"I love you so much. Forever." Austin said in my ear.
"Forever." I agreed.

"They used to hate each other, you know." Alan laughed during his toast as best man. "For a few years, they wanted to kill each other every time they were in a room together. I was the one who introduced them. You're welcome." He said. "Whenever we're on tour and Austin doesn't have Avery around for a long period of time, he's a totally different person. I have never seen two people who are so crazy about each other."
Austin stood up. It was his turn now. "I will never forget the first time I ever met Avery Carlile. God, that's fun to say. Alan introduced us and I smiled and told her how beautiful she was, and she flipped her hair and said 'you don't know me and you never will', and then walked off. I fell in love at that moment." He laughed, pausing for a second. "Never in my life have I had someone who knows me as well as she does. I'm grateful every single day to have her. I'd die without you, baby girl. You are the one thing I can't live without and I love you with every fiber of my being even though I don't deserve you."
"Yeah, yeah. Can we cut the cake now?" I teased. Everyone laughed and I stood up to kiss him. We walked over to the cake and I stared in awe. It was beautiful. Austin stood behind me and with his arms around my waist, we both grabbed the knife handle and cut the cake. He grabbed a piece and shoved it in my face.
"Austin!" I cried, getting him back.
"Hey, Mrs Carlile, take it easy." He smirked, grabbing my hands.
"Oh, I love it when you say my name." I bit my lip.
"Attention, ladies and gents." Vic said, going to the stage. "As a special surprise to everyone's favorite bride, I pulled some strings and got my friends in Fall Out Boy to play tonight."
No fucking way. Vic smirked at me, winking as he left the stage and the band came on. "Congratulations to the bride and groom!" Patrick said. "This one's for you."
Austin pulled me to the dance floor. "Our first dance to 'Alone Together' by Fall Out Boy. It suits us."
"Doesn't it?" I laughed softly. "He's an angel for doing this."
"I love you so much." He sighed. "Mrs Carlile."
"Where are we going?" I asked, attempting to surprise him into telling me. He'd been planning our honeymoon for weeks now and refused to tell me where he was taking me.
"Patience, baby. Patience." He replied. "Shut up and dance with me."
So I did.
It was time for me to throw my bouquet before long. I rounded up all the single women and turned by back, tossing it hard.
Chloe caught it and smirked at everyone around her. "That's right, bitches. Move along."
I laughed. "I love you, Chloe."
She smiled, wiping her eyes. "My big sister is all grown up. I love you too."
Austin cleared his throat. "Thank you so much for coming, everyone. This has been, without a doubt, the greatest day of my life. Our flight leaves soon and on behalf of my wife and myself, we hope you had a great night!"
He grabbed my hand. "Ready, Mrs Carlile?"
I grinned. "I've never been more ready for anything in my life."
