Meet My Dedication

Seven Thousand Miles for What?

I was extremely anxious about the results from my blood work, I got sick again this morning, but Austin was already out and about with Alan and the guys doing God only knows what. I decided to clean the entire house, as a surprise for Austin and to pass the time, while I waited.
Half way done with mopping the floor I got the phone call.
“Hello?” My voice was a little shaky, and I gripped the mop for dear life.
“Miss Brier, congratulations!” Doctor Mumford, our general doctor beamed. “You’re not sick at all, your blood work came back and all is well.”
“That’s wonderful, but, why the ‘congratulations’ Dr. Mumford?” I bit my lip, not really sure I was ready for the news she was about to come forth with.
“You and Mr. Carlile are going to have a baby! You’re almost 6 weeks now.” I almost dropped my phone from shock. I didn’t know if I was supposed to be happy, or terrified.
She noticed that I was completely speechless, “Miss Brier?”
“Yes? Oh, uh… Thank you, that… That’s great news, I can’t wait to tell Austin when he gets home.” I didn’t know what I was going to tell him. I didn’t even think I wanted to. Not yet, at least, not until I was ready.
“You both have a wonderful day, be sure to check up again in another couple of weeks so we can see how the baby is doing,” I didn’t know what else to say, I just needed to get off the phone.
“Of course, we will soon. Goodbye, Dr. Mumford.” I hung up and put my phone on the counter before even trying to breathe again. I dropped the mop and slid down onto the ground, wrapping my arms around my legs.
Austin and I were going to have a baby?

Austin’s POV
I got a phone call from Alan this morning, and trying not to wake up Mikey, I ran out of our room and into the kitchen.
“Sup, man?” I heard Tino and Phil in the background, “why for the love of God are you calling me so early?”
“Well, we all got called into the studio, where the hell are you?” Alan sounded tired as hell, as well as irritated.
“I just woke up, I didn’t know we were in the studio today.” I rubbed my eyes, wanted so badly to go back to bed and curl up with Mikey.
“We’re not supposed to be, but Jared just called us all in for a meeting.” I sighed, Jared, our manager, always did this, calling us all into the studio way to early for any of us, and just talking about absolutely nothing.
“Can you give me the gist of what’s going on?” I yawned.
“Just get your ass down here, dude.” He hung up and I made my way back into our room to get dressed. I looked at Mikey, sleeping peacefully for a change. She hadn’t been feeling well, and it was causing her to toss and turn in her sleep, which sucked. I was looking forward to getting the results of her blood work so we could focus on getting her better again.
I kissed her on the forehead before making my way into the bathroom and brushed my teeth before grabbing my wallet, phone, and keys and heading out the door.
I made my way inside to see the guys and Jared sitting in the booth. I took a seat next to Alan and waved to everyone.
“Well good morning, sleepy head. I head you had a nice night last night,” Jared winked at me and I couldn’t help but turn red. “In case none of you checked Instagram last night, Austin got himself engaged.”
I played around with the ring on my finger, and had all the guys hooting and hollering, making Alan’s head explode. Obviously, he was hungover, and it was a nasty one at that.
“Dude, that’s awesome!” Aaron grinned, and patted me on the back.
“Yeah, Mikey’s awesome,” Phil side hugged me. I had a huge smile on my face, knowing I was going to spend the rest of my life with her.
“Anyways, back to business. It’s almost that time and Vans is offering you guys a spot on Warped Tour this year, I have to know by the end of the week if you guys are in, or not.” Jared still had a smile on his face, but his voice said that he didn’t care as much as he made it seem.
“I’m in,” Alan yawned, “can we go back to bed now?”
“I’m down for it!” Tino and Phil said simultaneously.
“Me too,” Aaron agreed.
“I have to talk to Mikey about it, she’s been really sick the last few weeks. We’re getting the results today, and I need to make sure she’s okay, first.” I got up and grabbed my keys, “I’ll let you know probably by tonight, if we can go.”
“Alright dude,” Alan fist bumped me and followed me out to my car.
“So, rough night last night?” I wrapped an arm around Alan’s shoulders.
“Nah, I just got a little bit too turned up, I guess.” He laughed and put on his shades.
“Nice, bro. I’ll catch up with you later, maybe we’ll all go out if Mikey’s feeling up to it.” I got in my car and rolled the windows down.
“Do you ever leave her side?” Alan chuckled and ruffled my hair, making his way to his own car.
“Never,” I laughed and headed home to my girl.
