Meet My Dedication

There wasn't anyone home, except Milly. I had texted her before we had left that Austin and I were on our way. She was ecstatic and knew she had to keep my dad away from the house for as long as possible. Mom, I could handle, dad was a totally different story. That and I really didn't want Austin going to jail for kicking my dad's ass, for me.
I pulled into my driveway and Austin made sure he opened my door for me. "Such a gentleman." I giggled as he helped me out of my car.
"Always." He smiled and put his arm around my waist and lead me to the front door, which he also opened. I kissed his cheek before entering the house, pulling him inside with me.
I heard someone coming downstairs, "Mills! Lookie who decided he was gonna come visit!" My hand was still intertwined with Austins.
Milly didn't look as happy as I thought she would, instead she looked concerned. Worry was written all over her face.
My smile fadded, "What's wrong?"
"He's home," she whispered. "He parked in the garage, and got her a few minutes before you did. I'm so sorry, Mikey. I had no idea."
I heard his heavy footsteps and Paxton hissing and running through the kitchen and into the main hall, where we were. "You damn cat, you're lucky I haven't sold you to the god damn Chinese Buffet!" He had already started hitting the Jack Daniels, I could tell. I always knew. "Milly! Where's that poor excuse of a sister of yours? I need to talk to her."
Austin just held on to my hand, and I felt him tense up. I squeezed it in reassurance that I'd be okay. I gulped down the last bit of courage I had against my father and let his fingers slip away from mine. "Coming, dad." I walked into the kitchen to see my dad holding on to the counter, and pouring himself another shot of Jack. "What is it? If it's about Paxton, I'm sorry. You know she can get playful. She just wanted attention."
I felt the sting on my cheek before his hand even touched it. his wedding ring had cut open a part of my cheek. The taste of blood on my mouth was instant and I had to try to catch myself before falling. "You're pathetic, Mikeal. You and that damn cat are nothing but trouble! If you can't control her than she goes."
"If she goes, I go." I grabbed a paper towel to try and stop the bleeding before it got on my work shirt. This was going to leave a nice scar on my face.
"That's the plan. I've wanted you gone since we brought you home. You're no daughter of mine. You're useless, worthless, and you'll never amount to anything. Look at yourself! You're 25 and have a degree in English, but you're making smoothies and playing with fucking toys! When are you going to grow up!"
"In case you haven't noticed, dad but I am grown up. I make my own money, I don't depend on you or mom for anything. I bought my own car, brand new and I put myself through college. Milly got everything from you and mom, and I worked for everything I got." I spit at him, "I'm done here."
I started making my way out of the kitchen when my dad grabbed a fistful of my hair and threw me to the ground. I hit my head on the counter, splitting it open.
"Mikey!" I heard Austin yell, coming into the kitchen. "What the hell have you done, you bastard?!" Milly had run over to me to see if I was okay.
"Something I should have done a long time ago. And just who the hell are you?" Austin punched my dad in jaw as my vision started getting really fuzzy and the noises around me were muffled. It felt like I was under water.
"Mikey? Mikey, you're going to be okay... I'm calling 911." I head Milly say, she was right next to me, I could barely see her.
"Mills.." I wanted to tell her I was going to be okay, that this isn't the worst that he's done. I wanted to tell her to make sure Austin was going to be okay, but I couldn't. All I could see was black.

Over 1000 views, oh guys you're going to make me cry! Thank you all so so so much! This chapter was really short, and I'm sorry, but it's mostly a filler.
If you guys noticed, i've started to add my favorite lyrics to each chapter from the song in the title. All except Let Live, I'm having a problem trying to edit that one. :/
