I was all for you

The next day at school, Alex expected to see her best friend Beth and school, so she was quite surprised when she walked to Beth's locker and she wasn't there. Alex tried calling her cell phone, but there was no answer. When the day was over and Beth still hadn't called back, Alex drove to Beth's house to see if she was okay. She knocked on the door, but instead of Beth answering it, her mother answered it, and her eyes were puffy and red.

"Alex! Is Beth with you?!" Her mother cried

"Um, no.... Why would Beth be with me?" Alex asked confused

"She didn't tell you what happened?" Her mother asked

"No, please explain to me what's going on!" Alex said as she stepped into the house.

"Last night while you and Bethanny were at that concert, Marcia was cleaning in Bethanny drawer and she found....she found bloody blades!" Her mother erupted into a huge fit of sobs. Alex started crying too. Beth had been cutting herself and she didn't tell her best friend? Alex was feeling mixed emotions. Sadness that her friend had been hurting herself, but anger that she hadn't told her. "We confronted her when she came home but then her father got so mad and he slapped her. So she ran off. I tried to stop him from hurting her Alex I really did. I hit him back, but he just punched me. That's how I got this mark." She said as she pointed to the bruise on her rib. It looked almost identical to the bruise Jason gave Alex.

"Beth didn't come to me, but I think I might know where she is." Alex said. She had remembered last night that Beth and Austin went and talked privately. Maybe Beth told Austin about her cutting. So Alex called Alan. the phone ran twice and then his familiar voice was on the other end.

"Hello? Who is this?" Alan asked

"Alan it's Alex!" She said

"Alex! Hey! Um, are you okay? The stairs hurting you?" He asked concerned. Alex knew that he knew Jason was hitting her, but Alex wasn't ready to admit it yet.

"No Alan. I'm fine. It's about Beth. Do you know where she is?" Alex asked

"Ummm, ya... She's here with Austin and us. She came to us crying last night. Oh, here she is." Alan said

"Alex?" Beth said through Alan's phone

"Beth! I'm so glad your okay. Hey listen, your mom told me everything! I'm not mad okay! I just need to see you!" Alex said

"No Alex, I can't bear to tell my mom that I've been cutting." Beth said

"No listen, your mom won't come. It'll just be me. Besides, I need to tell you something." Alex said. She was going to tell Beth about what has been going on with her and Jason.

"Okay Alex, but tell my mom that I love her and I'm sorry, Alex were at the holiday inn on 6th street. I'll be in the lobby." Beth said

"Alright, I'll see you soon." Alex said as she hung up. She explained to Beth's mom what she had told Alex, and her mom understood. Alex drove to the address that Beth gave her, and sure enough, Beth was waiting for her in the lobby. They ran up to each other and gave each other a tight and tearful hug.

"Beth why didn't you tell me?" Alex said

"I could'nt. But what do you need to tell me?" Beth asked

"Well, me and Jason have been secretly dating for 6 months, but I didn't tell you because... Because he hit me a lot. And those marks you always asked me about came from him." Alex said

"That fucking bastard, I swear to god when I see him I'm gonna fucking rip his balls off!" Beth said with anger in her eyes.

"Hahahah, but Beth listen. I.... I really like Alan and I don't like Jason. Would it be wrong if I said yes to Alan even though I'm technically dating Jason?" Alex asked

"Nah dude. Fucking go for it! I'm going out to buy shit, so you go talk to Alan now!" Beth said to Alex.

"Alright. Be back soon!" Alex said to Beth. Alex got onto the elevator and took it up to the 4th floor. She knocked on room 406 and sure enough Alan answered the door. Without even saying hello, Alex wrapped her arms around Alan's neck and kissed him. At first he pulled away, with shock in his eyes, but once he realized what was going on, he continued to kiss, and soon enough, her legs were wrapped around his waist and they were up against the wall.
