Staring At The Edge Of The World.

Prologue:

Austin:

Just know that none of this was your fault. You were the only thing keeping me around this long. The world is a cruel place, and i've wanted to leave the second I was brought into this world. I want you to find someone new, and treat them 100 times better than how you treated me. I love you. I'll always be watching over you.

-Becca

That note was the first thing Austin saw that morning. As he rolled onto his side and discovered it wedged between his pillow. He didn't know what to think. His heart felt like it was about to burst out of his chest and his head felt heavy. Maybe he could get to her, maybe he could save her before it's too late.

By the time he made it to the cliff, it was too late, she was on her way down and there was no saving her. He cried for days, staying locked up in his room and not talking to anyone. Everyone said that it wasn't love anyways, they were young, only 16. But Austin knew that it was, no matter what everyone said. He was the only one who could determine how he felt, he was the only one who could determine how long he needed to be upset. His mind was made, and there was no turning back.

Today was the 3 year anniversary of Becca's death, and he did what he did everyday and went to the cliff, looking over the edge and imagining the screams as she fell. It hurt him to think about, but she was gone, and there was nothing he could do.

But as he looked up and saw a girl standing there, in the exact same place she did, he knew he had to do something before it was too late.
