Forgive Me- Part 1
Pick Up
I finally get to go home, don’t get me wrong, I love my family and all, but two weeks is plenty of time to be around them. I chuck the last of my bags into my car when mum walks up to me,
“Drive safe okay? Call me the second you get home.”
“I will mum; it’s only an hour drive.”
“I know but there are idiots on the road so I want you to be careful.”
“Okay, love you mum “
“Love you too” she pulls me into a hug and gives me a quick kiss on the cheek before letting me go.
“BYE JASON AND ELIZA! Don’t hassle mum too much okay?” I call over mums shoulder.
“Yea, yea, just get out of here all ready,” Jason laughed. I waved to them before getting into my car and heading to Canberra.
God it feels good to be alone, that house is so crowded and noisy. I turn up the volume of my music and let Pierce the Veil, All Time Low and Of Mice & Men flow through my ears. I sigh in contentment. I love this music. I find it so calming though I bet many other people disagree.
*** flash back***
“What the hell is this crap?” Rebecca asked as my music started playing
“It’s not crap! It’s music!” I defended
“It’s noise… I thought you listened to my type of music? I mean you always sing along to Paperweight and A Thousand Years with me!”
“Yea well I like that type of music too, I’ll listen to pretty much everything, but I love these guys.”
“Well can you love them at another time? I hate it.”
“Fine, you better love me.”
*** End Flashback***
I smile at the memory. Becca and I have almost nothing in common; I honestly don’t know how we even became friends. Rain starts to drizzle down from the sky and I sigh. I hate driving in the rain.
What is that? I think as I squint at a figure in the distance. Is that a person? That poor bastard! I quickly pull over not too far in front of them. There is no way in hell I am letting someone walk in the rain out here, it’s another 45 minute drive before we hit any civilisation so there is no way in hell that I am letting someone walk that far. The person sees that I have pulled over and quickly runs to the car and opens the door…
