I'm Not That Perfect
Eight; Sorry
"Jesus, Chloe. What do you mean, you're turning eighteen in five months?" I asked. "Aren't you twelve?"
"Very funny, Ave. You'll be home, won't you?" My younger sister asked, all the way from Italy.
"Your birthday is in February. . ." I looked at the tour schedule calendar. "Yes. I'll be home for your birthday."
"Yay!" She cried. "And we can go to a club?"
"If that's what you really want. Hey, you'll be able to buy your own alcohol now! You're growing up so fast." I grinned. "How is everything at home? How are Leo and John?"
"They came to visit a few weeks ago. Leo's still dating that horrible girl from Berlin, John is taking his tests to get into medical school." She replied. "Shit, I've got to get to piano lessons."
Asshole Carlile was standing at my doorway, watching me sheepishly. "I'll talk to you soon, okay Chloe? Be good. I'll see you in a few months, FaceTime you soon. Love you." I hung up the phone and raised my eyebrows at him. "What on earth could you possible have to say to me?"
"I'm really sorry." He said, sitting on my bed and looking straight into my eyes. "I don't even remember anything."
"That's not an excuse. You humiliated me and made me look like I'm easy in front of so many people." I replied coldly.
"I'm so so so sorry. I'm not good at apologizing! I don't know what to say. I was beyond an asshole. You shouldn't speak to me ever again. I'm never going to be mean to you ever again!" He blurted.
"Oh really?" I smiled wryly.
"Yes, really. I'm going to be nice to you from now on, and that's a promise." He said.
"Good luck keeping it." I said shortly, standing up. "You're due on stage soon, Austin. Let's go; I've got photographs to take."
"You belong in front of the camera, not behind it." He mumbled, following me out.
"You're not the first person who thinks so." I shrugged, igniting the jealous part of him.
"Yeah? Well I actually mean it." He responded.
"Do you? I thought you just had to be nice to me now." I said absently.
"I think you're beautiful. I just thought you ought to know." He shrugged, making me blush for the second time in one day.
