One Moment

Break Free

"Well.. fuck!" I laughed, multiple yells and cheers being thrown into the air from the crowd, some being hard to make out because of the heavy down pour that just decided to randomly dump down in the middle of our set.

People started to laugh and dance in the rain, and I threw my arms up, letting myself get soaked, but our stage manager ran out, yelling at us. "Get everything under here! We can't have this equipment getting wet unless you want to be electrocuted!!"

We hurriedly ran, grabbing our guitars and then as fast as we could, shoved the speakers to back stage were there was a roof and a little more protection from rain. Sammy's drums were already under a shaded part, so we didn't have to worry about that. "What do we do about the show?" Izzy asked, yelling over the rain.

We all looked at each other, but then an idea popped into my head and I ran back out onto the stage, getting even more soaked.
I held my arms out and signaled for everyone to quiet down, 'shh' being echoed around the crowd. "So, according to our manager we can't use our microphones unless we want to get electrocuted!" I had to shout, putting my hands around my mouth to try and make it louder, but the rain was nearly drowning me out.

Everyone still managed to hear and 'aww's replaced the 'shh's'. "But.." I started. "Since you all have equally as beautiful of voices.." The crowd started to cheer, but I had to wait for them to quiet down before I could talk again. "How bout you guys help us out?!!"

A big smile grew on my face as they roared louder than the rain, no one caring that they were soaked.
I wiped my wet hair that was sticking to my face off to the side and laughed aloud, waiting for them to quiet again. "Let's finish our last set of the week with a bang and Beautiful Scars!!" I yelled with a smile, the crowd roaring again in agreement after, this being our most popular song. Kush who was hidden under the tent to not get his guitar wet, started to play it, more quietly than before, and Sammy did the same with his drums.

I ran and grabbed Izzy's hand, pulling her on stage with me since she was my back up singer, draping our arms around each other as we swayed to the beginning of the song. It was the most amazing thing in the world to hear and see our crowd start sing/yelling every word to the song right as it started. So amazing it gave me chills and that we didn't even have to sing they were going so loud and proud.

I had the biggest smile ever on my face, Izzy and I throwing our arms up in the air as they sang, taking in the beautiful rain. "Holy fuck THAT WAS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL THING I'VE EVER HEARD!" I shouted when they were finished, completely blown away. "Wow.." I shook my head in disbelief, smiling while they cheered.

"That was so fucking awesome!" Kush ran out with Sammy, laughing, too.

We were about to say something else when all of the suddenly, lightening flashed down near by, lighting everything up, thunder booming after. Some shrieks were let out from the crowd, everyone flinching, but then laughter coming out. "Holy shit guys! I guess this is where we end tonight! We love you ALL! STAY SAFE AND GET OUT OF THIS STORM!" I yelled as loudly as I could, all of us blowing a kiss before racing off the stage.

"Get the drums into the protective boxes and do it quick! Storm warnings are fucking everywhere!" Our back stage manager shouted over. We all quickly started going over to the drums and stereos, trying our best to take them apart and put them into the big, black, metal containers they had. The rain was coming down so fast with the wind it was hard to see what I was doing and even to walk straight, but as a team, we all managed to put our instruments safely away.

Sammy and I then ran around, making sure all the crowd and kids here were safe, luckily most of them just took off to the parking lot and hid inside of their cars.

"Get back to your bus, this shit is crazy!" Our manager yelled and then took off in a run, all of us doing the same after, in a different direction.

I held my hand over my eyes to try and help to see, but the rain and wind was nipping at my eyes, the sky darkening. "This came out of fucking no where!" I yelled as we stopped in the middle of whatever fucking street we were on.

"Where even are we?!" Izzy cried, a small laugh in her voice.

Another jolt of lightening touched down and we all jumped, letting out curse words. "Hazel?!" I heard a voice in the distance call out.

I looked around, but couldn't see anything. "Haze?! You out here?!" It was Austin and Alan.

"Austin?! Alan?!" I yelled over, turning around to try and pin point where their voices were. Eventually I could make them out running over, holding jackets over their heads. "Over here!" They called.

I got the rest of my bands attention and we all started to run over behind Austin and Alan. Austin slowed his run when we got closer and held his hand out, which I took and allowed him to pull me up into his bus that Tino was holding the door open to. After helping Izzy, Kush, and Sammy in, the door slammed shut and we stood there dripping wet.

"Fucking hell," I breathed, chuckles going around after.

I grabbed onto the material of my shirt and felt how heavy it was, not even having to twist it for water to come dripping out. My hair was nearly worse, besides the fact that it didn't absorb water. But it still was stuck all over my face, dripping like crazy. "Don't move," Austin held his hands out, laughing as he ran back into his bus.

He came back a little later with a bunch of towels, throwing one to all of us before putting the rest on the floor for us to step on. "Storm and flood warnings all over the TV, this ones gona be a dizzy!" Tino announced, looking at the small TV.

"Sleepover!" Alan cheered, throwing his arms up in the air like a three year old. "I'll get the beer!"

"I'll get you guys some clothes," Austin chuckled, taking the more responsible route than Alan.

He gave Sammy and Kush some sweatpants, them saying they'd be fine shirtless, but gave Izzy and I a sweatshirt, too. Once we dried off enough, I went into the bathroom to change while Izzy went into the back room with Kush.

Trying to get my soaked jeans off was nearly impossible. I had to hold onto the bathroom counter and try to yank my leg out, but I ended up slipping on the water I dragged in here, falling to the ground with a loud thud. "Fuck," I groaned, my butt hurting from falling on it.

I tried once more to pull them off now that I was on the ground, but ended up whacking my toe on the cabinet under the counter. "You've got to be fucking kidding me," I huffed.

"Haze? Everything okay in there?" Austin knocked lightly on the door.

"No," I pouted, crossing my arms. "I can't get my fucking pants off."

I heard a light chuckle come from him, "can I come in?"

"I guess."

The door creaked open, Austin stepping in and closing it quickly behind him. An amused looked came on his face when he saw me and I could tell he was trying to hold back laughter. "S'not funny," I pouted.

"Aw you poor thing," he teased. "Come here," he reached his hand down, grabbing my arm after to help me stand. "Sit," he gestured to the counter, helping me up on it. "Hold on to my shoulders."

I did as he instructed and held onto his shoulders when he leaned down, grabbing onto the bottom of my pants. He started tugging at them, yanking hard then easily working them down. With one final grunt he pulled them off in a swift movement, my legs now bare and cold, goose bumps immediately coming on. A shiver went down my thigh and Austin quickly helped me into the warm, fuzzy sweatpants of his.

"Now for the shirt," I huffed. I think I had picked the worst outfit to put on to be caught in a storm with. It was a chilly day today so I had also put on a simple long sleeve shirt that now was sticking to my skin like glue.

I started trying to do it myself, but I couldn't get it up past my chest, my shoulders twisting in pain and arms getting stuck. "Fuck," I growled, struggling. Austin laughed at me, my shirt being stuck covering my head. "It's not funny!" I said, but ended up laughing at the end.

"It really is," Austin laughed while coming over, helping me tug my shirt up. It hurt getting it over my head, but it was a lot easier with Austin's help. He threw it to the ground with a huff, water splashing over.

"You're fucking freezing, Haze," his hand brushed against my skin, goosebumps running all over the place. It wasn't until now that I noticed the clattering off my teeth and constant shivers of my body.
