One Moment

And Now I Sing, For Everything I've Lost

My body was tingling from adrenaline.

The roars of the crowd were running through my bones, pumping through each vein like electricity. My switch had been flipped and my whole body lit up.

I could hear them screaming. Screaming our bands name. Screaming my name...

This is what I live for.

"It's time," the back stage manager said to me, my head hanging, eyes closed, hand gripped tight on my microphone, letting the feeling coarse through me. With those words, I electrified.

I am electric.

My feet carried me forward, my band following after me, running onto the stage, entering the alternate universe of music... My favorite universe.

The crowd was shinning like a bright light, until my eyes adjusted to the beautiful sunlight, letting each and everyone of them stand out. Each and everyone of them had their own story, own personality, own shoes to fill. Each of them have been through things that they chose to express in music. Not just any music right now.. my music. Each of them are my bright, roaring, and beautiful fans that made my heart pump out of my chest.

Their cheers were dim noises to me while my heart beat thumped in my ears, pumping their screams through each vein.

I slid my microphone into the stand and took one last look around the crowd that had gathered on this hot Friday. My crowd. "Are you guys ready for this?!" I asked into the microphone, receiving more and more cheers and yells, but not nearly enough to make my ears ring that blessed ring.

"I said ARE YOU GUYS READY FOR THIS?!" I yelled louder, holding my arms up and a smile spreading across my face when their screams pierced the air. And with that, the music started. Guitars being strum with force and drums being hit with passion, bouncing their soundaround for everyone to hear.

"My name is Hazel Hendrix and WE. ARE. DARKENED. MOON!!" I yelled, putting more and more emphasis on each word, then breaking out into our first song of the show, singing along with the cheers of the fans. Our fan base wasn't the biggest as the others here and this was our first Warped Tour, but each and everyone of them had a place in out hearts. With out them we would be no where.

We sang and screamed and played about reality. About the things we've all been through, or need to get through. We let every bull shit thing and tough time push us towards our music, writing it with each ounce of dedication and emotion that dripped inside of us. Anger, Love, Passion, Hate, Sadness... it all came out.

Beads of sweat rolled down my forehead as I let my self get transferred into the world of Punk. The world of Rock. The world of metal. The world of music. My world.

"Thank you San Francisco!!! WE LOVE YOU ALL!" We screamed and then made our way off the stage, panting and sweaty, but huge smiles plastered on out faces.

When we got out of sight, we came together into a group hug, giving high fives and pats on the back along with it. "We fucking rocked it!" Kyle, cheered, throwing his arm around Izzy's shoulder. Kyle, or Kush, as we call him because we like to tease him about his love for weed, played bass and sung back up in our band. He was always the goofy, stoned one, but when playing he was a whole new person.

"Hell yeah we did!" Sammy replied, grabbing water bottles and throwing one to all of us. Sammy, my best friend and the drummer of our band, came over to me. "You fucking killed it, yet again, Haze!" He said to me. Since I've known him since I was little, he's had the time to make-up 300 different nick-names for my name. One of them being Starr, which was my middle name and had become very popular. Normally my band or other friends would call me Star, and I enjoyed it.

"Thanks, but I wouldn't be shit with out you guys," I laughed and then hopped on to Sammy's back while he was squatting down like I always did and we ran down the stairs on the side of the stage, Kush and Izzy following behind us. We stopped to the side where the back stage manager had all of our phones and we all gladly took them, slipping them inside out pockets before running off again.

This was our first day that we preformed on Warped Tour ever, so all spirits were high and happy as we laughed and ran around the set, trying to find the booth where we would be meeting fans.
It was only around 2 o'clock and we still had yet another set to do tonight as well as signing and an interview. I wasn't complaining at all, though, I loved every ounce of it. This was my favorite thing to do in the world.
Normally we shouldn't have to perform twice in one day, but since this was the kick off of this years Warped, it was pretty crazy.

Good crazy.

Sammy thought it would be funny to start spinning really fast in circles while I was on his back, so I let out a squeal and gripped on tight to him. "Oh my god, stop! I'm going to puke all over you!" That got him to immediately stop and I laughed at him, trying to make my world stop spinning in circles.

"We have arrived, your Highness," he said and crouched down, allowing me to easily slip off his back. I looked around and immediately wished I had my sun glasses with me, but at least I remembered to put on sun screen. "It looks like it's going to rain tonight," Sammy said nonchalantly as we walked behind the table covered in a black cloth and sat on the chairs behind it. We were now under a small tent, so I couldn't get a good look at the sky, I guess I'll just have to take his word for it.

Kush and Izzy came frolicking in the tent right then, and plopping down in the seats next to us. They were probably sucking on each others faces, causing them to be a little behind. I really don't know what was going on with them, but I think it was just one of those random band-mate hookup phases... Hey, it happens.

Kush walked over to the radio that was on the table and messed around with it to find a good station, smiling when a Bring Me The Horizon song came on. That reminded me to do something.

I pulled my phone out of my pocket and opened it up to see I had a new message.
Oli: 'Where the fuck are you???'
Me: 'Just finished my set, about to meet some fans!'
Oli: I'm just about to go on now but there's a party tonight thats gona be sick, you comin?
Me: Would I ever turn down a good party?
Oli: I'll be at your bus at 8 ;)

I rolled my eyes and put my phone back in my pocket. I had met Oli a year or two ago at one of my band's gigs and kept in touch with him ever since. When we found out that I was going to be on Warped the same time he was, we declared it was going to be fucking awesome. A few other great bands were here with us and Bring Me The Horizon like Pierce the Veil, A Day to Remember, All Time Low, Yellowcard, Of Mice and Men, Sleeping With Sirens, You Me At Six, ect. They were all amazing bands and touring with them was just as insane as it was exciting. Our band was finally getting out there to the world and I couldn't be happier. I had overcome all the bad shit in my life and was living my dream.

I was snapped out of my thoughts by the noises of multiple people approaching us and looked up to see the line of our fans right out side our tent. I couldn't express enough how much I loved them. They're the ones that made everything happen and supported us through thick and thin.

There were body guards at the front of the line that let them come in a few at a time to come up to our table and either talk to us or have us sign things for them. It still blew my mind to this day that people got so emotional over having my signature on one of their shirts or skin, but it also made me feel so fucking good and all I wanted to do was hug them all. Which we tried to.

We liked to actually talk to our fans and give them each individual time, but an hour or so passed and the line was still coming. It was a little exhausting, especially when you just played a show and have another to play, but I was doing fine because I still had all the excited energy writhing inside of me.

"Hi," a girl came up to the table, looking like she was probably still in high school. She looked a little shy and seemed to be gripping onto something in her hand, twirling it around to distract her self. I gave her a warm smile, "Hi!"

"Can you-uhm, can you sign this for me?" Her voice was a little shaky as her arm extended out word, then she opened up the palm of her hand. I saw my heart skip a beat at the sight of the large, silver and shiny blade in her hand that looked familiar. "I just- your music has helped me so much...because of you I've been a few months clean and every time I look at this I want to think of you.." she mumbled and my heart melted. I even found my self getting teary eyed.

I couldn't help my self from reaching over the table and embracing her in a tight hug, "of course I'll sign it for you." I pulled away and looked into her watery eyes, then grabbed the sharpie on the table next to me. I grabbed the blade out of her hand and set it on the table, writing my name on it as best as I could with a heart and then 'stay strong' on the opposite side. When I finished signing it I picked it up and walked around the table, coming so I was on her side to give her a better hug. "You are so strong and I am so proud of you," I said into the hug. This wasn't the first time someone has come up to us, telling us about how we have helped them, but each time it tugged on my heart, making me realize that this is what I live for... Helping these people and I love every ounce of it. It amazes me how much these people look up to me, because just a little while ago I was a nobody that hated everything about her life besides the music in it, but now I am living my dream.

I broke away from the tight hug and saw the tears in her eyes and a few that had dripped down, making my heart clench. "Do you have a camera?" I asked her in a soft voice. She vigorously shook her head yes and pulled out her iPhone, opening it up to the camera. "Izz, come here and take a picture of us!" I called over to Izzy who had just finished talking to a teenaged boy who was drooling over her.

She hurried over and gave the girl next to me a smile, then took her phone from her. The girl and I posed, me smiling as bright as I could manage while Izzy stepped back to take the picture. "This is so much hotness in one picture I think you might break your phone," Izzy said, causing us to chuckle when she gave the girl her phone back. Before Izzy went back to the table she gave the girl a quick hug. "What's you name?" I asked her.

"M-Mary," she said, seeming a little shocked.

"Would you mind tweeting this picture to me, Mary?" I love seeing all the pictures with my fans and I also would love to make this girls day better any time I could. I normally followed a lot of my good fans back and tried to tweet them as much as I could, but sometimes I lose track of everything. She smiled and shook her head before I gave her one more big hug and she left, a huge grin never coming of her face.

*

The next hour or so went like that and by the time we got to the last fan we could talk to before we were running out of time, my heart was heavy. Fuck, I love my fans.

I stretched my arms above my head, hearing my back crack a couple times and then letting out a yawn. I still had the rest of the night left and I already could go for a nap. Well, I'm always in the mood for a nap. "Uh-oh! Someones yawning!" Sammy called over and then started to make ambulance noises. "This is an emergency 9-1-1! We need Monsterrr!" I laughed at him as he ran over to the 'electric cooler', as we called it, which held all of our energy drinks and protein stuff in the corner. He pulled out a blue Monster and threw it over to me. I didn't hesitate to open it and take a sip when my hands got ahold of the cool can, quenching my thirst. I knew Monster wasn't very good for my heart, but it's not like I drank 5 a time. Sometimes I preferred Red Bull, though.

"I need to eat before I pass out!" Izzy announced from beside me, reminding me of my empty stomach. "Taco time?!" I asked her, both of our faces lighting up. We had spotted a taco truck earlier today and were determined to pig out on them as soon as we could.

"Fuck yes!" She cheered.

"Alright, I've got to run back to the bus to grab some money, go get us a spot in line!" I set my monster down, then walked out of the tent, shielding my eyes from the sun and starting to head back over to our bus. It wasn't too far away from our set today, so I let myself jog over there.

I swung the door open to our bus when I got there and searched around for my wallet, grabbing a 20 and then was about to leave when I remembered my sunglasses. I quickly saw they were on the small kitchen table and grabbed them, continuing my run down the stairs and out the bus. I shut the door and locked it behind me, spinning to go jog back when I ran into something hard. No, someone...

"Uff!" I stumbled backwards but a hand reached out and grabbed my arm to stop me but falling, but my sunglasses still fell, smacking against the step.

"Shit! Sorry!" A smooth, but yet raspy voice said, catching my attention immediately. The man helped me stand up straight and I picked up my sunglasses, noticing they had multiple scratches on them, but as I looked up about to snap at the guy, I was stopped by his warm brown eyes.

Notes

Hello guys!!
This is my first fan fiction on this website, so I'm kind of new here!

I would appreciate it tons if you guys could let me know what you think! Do you like her name? The bands name?

This chapter was kind of just an introduction for the Warped Tour part of the story and just basically letting you know who the people are in her band and what not.
This chapter wasn't the greatest, but I'm very excited for this story and should have more up soon!!!<3
