Those In Glass Houses

I'm The Type Of Person To Take It Personal

I frowned as Marie got in Aaron’s car. I was hungry, but I needed to get these papers done for the contract with Rise Records. I went back to the kitchen table and worked on them. After a few hours, a knock was heard on the door and I got up, walking over and opened it. “Hey Phil, what’s-“

“We need to talk, now.” Phil snapped. I nodded and followed him out, going to his car. The drive was quiet, but I could feel how pissed off he was.

“What’s going on?” I asked, walking in his house.

“What the hell is this?” He asked, tossing a few papers on the island between the kitchen and living room. I picked them up, seeing the divorce confirmation.

“Phil, you need to listen to me,”

“About what Austin?” He yelled. “About how you lied to us? How you lied to Anne?” He continued yelling.

“I didn’t want to say anything because I was hoping to get everything done as soon as possible! Gielle wouldn’t sign them and no matter what I threatened her with, she wouldn’t do it! You know very well that I would love to get this done but nothing was going right!” I yelled back.

“So now what? You tell her the truth or you lie to her still?” Phil asked. I stayed quiet, thinking about my options and I sighed.

“I’ll tell her, tonight.” I softly said. Phil let out a huff in annoyance and turned to the papers.

“Get it done soon.” He snapped, giving them to me. I took the papers, when something popped in my head.

“Where did you get them?” I asked him.

“Gielle passed by and asked if she could see you. I didn’t tell her where you lived though.” I nodded, walking out and going home. The walk was only half an hour and I didn’t mind it at all. Marie would hopefully understand why I couldn’t tell her about this. I got home, opening the door and hearing someone upstairs. “I’m home, baby.” I called, hearing her walk down the stairs. I smiled, placing the papers face down on the table and turned, seeing Gielle smiling at me.

“Hi baby, how are you?” She walked up to me and I walked back, pushing her away from me.

“What are you doing here? Where's Marie?” I asked, running up the stairs and into our bedroom. I looked around, seeing no signs of her, but her clothes gone and other things. I made my way to the guest room and to the closet, seeing her duffle bags missing and I began getting worried. “Where is she?” I growled, walking back downstairs.

“She left after I told her that she was only a toy to you. I mean, you are only using her because we're still married.” Gielle shrugged, sitting on the counter. “But anyway, she said thank you for taking care of her, but she and the baby won’t need you.” I froze.

Baby?

“Baby?” I repeated.

“Yeah, you know for her just being a toy, she sure did think that this relationship was real.” I snapped, slamming my fist on the table.

“It was real, I fucking love her!” I yelled. Gielle didn’t even flinch, she just shrugged.

“Oh well.”

“How did you get in here?” I asked. Gielle rolled her eyes and took out the extra key.

“I’m not stupid Carlile.” She waved it around. I stormed to her, grabbing it from her hand and grabbing her elbow. I walked to the alarm system, putting it on and towed her out, locking the door behind me.

“You stay away from her and I; got it?” I threatened her.

“I could take this up with the police, we’re still married!” She yelled. I let go of her arm and got in my car, speeding off to Aaron’s. I looked around, trying to find Marie and eventually I found myself hoping she was with Aaron. I turned the car off, stepping out of it and running to Aaron’s front door, knocking frantically. The door opened and I pushed myself in, looking around.

“Where’s Marie?” I asked, looking around. Alan stared at me and scoffed, walking away. I saw Phil holding a beer with Tino and Aaron looked at me.

“She’s not here, I haven’t seen her since she went home about an hour ago or so.” He answered. The door opened behind me and Sarah walked in, looking at me.

“Where’s Alan?” She asked, following where Phil pointed to.

“Gielle was at my house, Marie is pregnant and I don’t’ know where she is.” I spoke. “She could be anywhere and I need her right now.” I ran my hands through my hair and the group stayed quiet.

“Pregnant?” Alan asked, walking in with Sarah.

“Gielle told me.” I answered.

“How did Gielle know?” Aaron asked.

“She was at the house, and she kicked Marie out. Please help me find her.” I pleaded.

“Maybe she went back to our old apartment. I still live there.” Sarah spoke up, throwing me the keys. I knew it was a three hour trip but I didn’t care. I turned around and ran to my car, driving to the apartment.
