Those In Glass Houses

Keep Holding On

Annemarie’s POV

Alan got out of the hospital a few days later. He joked about the two bullets and how he survived a huge war. He also became very friendly with Sarah in no time. I knew Sarah liked him, it wasn’t very hard to see. I sat on the living room floor with Alan’s cat while Alan and Sarah went on a date. Tino was out to see his girlfriend and so was Phil. Aaron and Austin left to get some groceries and I stayed behind with Cookie, watching movies.

“Hey, Cookie?” I asked, seeing the cat roll on the floor. He instantly looked up at me, eyeing me before going back to roll on the floor. “You think everything will go back to normal?” I asked, resting on my back. The cat meowed softly and licked my hand. “What if I visit him? Make sure he isn’t going to get out anytime soon?” I whispered. Cookie stayed quiet, looking at me. He climbed on my chest, purring and cuddling up to me. I softly petted him, looking at him.

“Yeah, maybe I shouldn’t.” I smiled. The cat playfully bit my hand and I laughed, having it jump off me and roll on the ground next to me. I played with it when the front door opened and Aaron walked in.

“Annie, Austin’s in the car waiting for you, he wants to take you somewhere.” I nodded, getting up and picking Cookie up.

“Alright, watch him please?” I asked, setting the small kitten on the kitchen counter.

“Will do.” Aaron smiled, dropping the grocery bags on the table. I gave him a quick hug before walking out. I saw Austin waiting in the car and he was looking at his phone. I walked over, getting in the passenger side and he smiled at me, setting his phone down in the cup holder and leaned over. I met him halfway and lightly kissed him and pulled away.

“Where are we going?” I asked. He smiled and grabbed my hand.

“Somewhere.” He spoke, driving off. I put on some music, singing along to Alex who sang The Reckless and the Brave. Austin squeezed my hand, having gone through three albums of All Time Low and I looked out the window, seeing the cemetery.

“Austin, why are we here?” I asked. Austin turned the car off and got out. I got out as well, having him rush over to my side and close my door.

“I want to meet your parents.” He smiled. I stayed quiet, pulling him along and finally saw the tomb. I walked in front of it, looking down and kneeling.

“Mommy, daddy, this is Austin Carlile, my boyfriend.” I spoke, looking up at him. Austin kneeled next to me and smiled at the tomb.

“I bet they’re proud of you.” He whispered, pulling me to it between his legs.

“I hope so.” I whispered back, leaning into him.

“How were your parents?” He asked, playing with my hand.

“They were very nice. They loved me. They always told me. They died in a car crash and well, ever since then I was pretty much alone. I never had anyone other than Aaron and Josh, before he turned into a monster. They weren’t drug addicts or cheaters. My father loved my mother so much. He came home every Wednesday with a new bouquet of flowers for her; every week a different flower. He bought me two roses along as well. They both were hopeless romantics.” I answered. Austin held me tighter.

“I lost my mom when I was 17, so around the same time as you.” He spoke. I stayed quiet listening to him. “She was always there for me and my father, when she left, it was tough for me, so I completely understand you.” He whispered. “My father and I got through this though, just like you. She was in love with my dad so much. But she had the same heart disease as me. That’s what killed her.”

“She’s proud of you too; of everything. The fans you help, your band, your dad, and you.” He kissed my temple. I smiled, allowing him to hold me tightly. “Austin,” I looked up at him. He looked down at me and I stared at him. “I love you.”

“I love you too.” He answered, his lips landing on mine. The kiss was passionate and full of love, a kiss I never had before. I found myself wanting more and he pushed me back softly. “Not here, baby. Let’s get going.” He smiled. We drove home and after listening to another four albums in full, we made it. Everyone was gone, a note on the kitchen table that they had each gone to spend the night somewhere else. I left the note back on the table and felt arms wrap around my waist.

“Miss Hughs, would you like to join me upstairs?” He asked, whispering in my ear. I laughed, pushing him away and running up the stairs.

“You have to catch me first!” I yelled, hearing his footsteps catching up.

I don’t think I ever felt so loved than that night.

Notes

So, guess what's coming to an end. You guessed it. This story! :( Do you guys want another story? I'm open for suggestions. Alan, Aaron, Austin (again), Phil, or Tino?

I'm thinking of a Justin Hills one... You know? Maybe that would be next. :) With a hint of OM&M and PTV? :D
