Those In Glass Houses

Time-Bomb

Austin’s POV

I walked on the bus the next morning with a cast on my thigh and crutches. I wanted to see Marie. Aaron told me she was fine, but I wanted to see her myself. Alan helped me up the bus steps and I clumsily made my way to the bunks. I saw Marie sleeping in Aaron’s bunk and I smiled, carefully putting my crutches down and sitting on the bed. I put my thigh up, snaking an arm around her waist and pulling her to me. She mumbled a bit in her sleep, causing my face to light up and kiss her temple. She woke up, startled and looked at me. I smiled at her and she looked at my thigh. The bandage peeked from the shorts I was wearing and she frowned.

“I’m sorry.” She whispered, I barely heard her but I still caught it.

“For what? It wasn’t your fault.” I chuckled, pulling her to me and kissing her nose. She stayed still looking at me. Her hands traced my face, going down to my neck and back down to hold her pillow. “Marie, have you heard anything from him?” She looked down, not saying a word, only shaking her head. I continued to look at her and knew she was hiding something. “Marie.” I spoke.

“What?” She asked, not even looking at me.

“Marie I know you’re hiding something.” I pressed. I knew I shouldn’t but I needed to know. And God, that was a bad idea.

“I said no Austin! What more do you want from me!?” Marie snapped.

“I’m only trying to find out what happened!” I snapped back at her.

“So now I know all the answers?” She yelled, sitting up and getting off the bed.

“Marie!” I yelled, grabbing my crutches as she left the bunks. “Marie come back here!” I yelled at her as I limped out and saw her glaring at me.

“Just leave me alone. I don’t understand why you keep pressing me about this!” She yelled. Aaron walked on the bus and looked at us, followed by the rest.

“What’s going on?” He questioned.

“He won’t stop pestering me!” Marie yelled.

“Only because she won’t tell me the truth!” I yelled. Marie covered her ears and shut her eyes tightly.

“Just keep your mouth shut!” She screamed running back to the bunks. I tried to go after her but Aaron stopped me.

“Hey, just leave her okay? I’ll talk with her.” Just then, the bunk curtain opened and Marie walked out with her luggage.

“Where are you going?” I demanded.

“None of your business!” She yelled, walking passed me when I grabbed her arm.

“You are my business!” I growled. Her eyes widened in fear and I clenched my eyes closed, letting her arm go before relaxing. “I’m sorry.” I whispered. I opened my eyes, looking at her and she stared at me. “Go stay with Sarah for a few days. Have fun, okay?” I smiled a bit at her. She nodded, as I leaned down and kissed her. She returned it, pulling away and getting off the bus.

“She’s hiding something. I know she is. I can see it in her.” I spoke, sitting on the couch and having Alan sit next to me, listening to me. “Why won’t she tell me what’s going on?” I asked. Alan stayed quiet, just sitting next to me, staring at nothing.

“Like Phil said, give her time.” Tino spoke up. I nodded, knowing that I needed to take my time with her.

Annemarie’s POV

I got out of the bus, going to the trailer that Sarah stayed in and knocked on the door. The door opened, a black haired guy stood there and I gulped down my fear.

“I need to see Sarah.” I softly said and he nodded, going back in and calling her. I looked down when Sarah walked off the bus and looked at me.

“What happened?” she asked.

“Can I stay with you? While we settle this?” Sarah nodded, having me follow her inside the bus.

“Since I’m the only girl, I get more privacy. Make yourself at home.” Sarah said, opening a door that had a small room with a double bed.

“Thanks.” I said. She closed the door behind her and sat in front of me.

“Start talking.” I looked at her and sighed.

“The sooner we leave, the better.” I whispered. Sarah nodded and she heavily sighed.

“Alright, I’ll get packing. When do we leave?” I sat and began thinking.

“As soon as we can.”

“I have relatives in Kentucky. We can leave when we get there and one of them could drive us back to LA.” I agreed and she began making phone calls. Turns out, one of her cousin’s had an old car and he gladly gave it to Sarah. We got to Kentucky in two days. That’s when I would break the news to the guys.
