Austin kissing me had fucked everything up. Even now, a month later I could still feel his heated kiss against mine. I loved Dave, but it wasn’t anything like what I felt for Austin.
I looked at Dave, sleeping next to me so relaxed, and calm, and I smiled a little. I loved him… But he wasn’t Austin. Dave’s eyes fluttered and he looked at me, and he raised an eyebrow.
"Good morning stalker, does my face amuse you?" he asked and kissed me. I giggled against his lips and kissed him back.
"I love your face" I said.
"I have a short shift tonight, and after that… May I take you out somewhere?" he asked. He looked nervous yet hopeful and I looked at him.
"what are you plotting?" I asked and smiled.
"Nothing, I’m not plotting anything" he said and kissed me.
"Dave" I said and looked at him.
"I just want to take my beautiful girlfriend out" he said and kissed me again.
"If you promise it will be a new restaurant, and not sushi" I teased and he laughed.
"I can assure you, it’s not sushi… Tonight I want to take you somewhere fancy" he said.
"Fancy? you doing fancy?" I asked and pretended to be surprised. It was not the first time he took me something fancy but I liked to tease him about it.

Dave’s POV

I was sitting on the couch and looking up in the ceiling. I was more nervous then I had ever been before. My friend, Jack, looked at me and he raised an eyebrow.
"Hey Dave, what is going on?" Jack asked and I looked at him.
"I’m taking Crystal out on a date tonight" I said and smiled.
"You wouldn’t be nervous just because of a date" Jack said and he was right. It was just not a date.
"I’m… I’m going to propose to her" I said and looked at him.
"Propose?! Are you sure Dave? You’ve only been together for a few months" Jack said.
"I know, but still… i just know that she’s the one. Her smile, her eyes… Her way of being, the way she cares… Everything about her is just… I just know she’s the one" I said and sighed.
"Well as long as you’re not taking her on another sushi date I guess you’ll do just fine" Jack said and smiled. I smiled back and the alarm went off.
"Car five, big apartment building on fire, people trapped inside and several floors lit" the speakers called out.
"That’s us" I said and jumped up from the couch.

I handed out the orders and I put on a mask over my face. I was going in. They needed more people to save the ones stuck inside and I was good at my job. Together with two others i kicked in a door and ran upstairs to the third floor.
"LONDON FIRE DEPARTMENT, CALL OUT IF YOU’RE IN NEED OF HELP" I yelled and I heard someone call for me. I hurried over and saw a woman together with a child, maybe around 5 years old.
"i’ll get you out of here" I said and picked up the child, and wrapped my arm around the woman’s waist. She could barely walk. Jack helped me with the child and I took care of the woman. She collapsed near the stairs and I picked her up.
"Help" someone called and I turned around and saw another woman. She was stuck under some walls and I hesitated. I sighed and put the woman down near the entrance to the stairs.
"This is Dave, I need help on the third floor" I said into the radio and Jack responded.
"i’m on my way" he answered and I hurried over to the other woman.
"Bless you boy" she said and I took all my strength to get the collapsed wall away from her. I helped her up and I saw Jack with the other woman.
"Dave, are you okay?" Jack called and I made a thumb up. I carried the woman over to Jack and sighed a little in relief.
"I think there is someone else there" Jack said and looked back and I turned around again. And yes, there was someone there. I hurried over and saw that it was a man, crushed by the wall.
"May you rest in piece" I whispered.
"DAVE" Jack growled and I turned around, and then I heard something crack. I looked to my left and I saw the wall fall towards me.
