The Best Part was in Our Hands
One
My first full tour of my young career and I get thrown out onto Warped Tour. It's the tour that has made or broke bands in the past and I was sure it would do the same to the photographers documenting the antics of the bands on tour. This was going to be my chance to get my work out there and start making real money.
"Rise and shine Marks," the manager for the tour photographers called out.
"Why do we have to wake up at the crack of dawn while the artist can sleep until seven," I groaned as I rolled out of my bunk and followed the manager, Hank, to the front lounge of the tour bus.
"Because we are going to get an early start to assigning you guys to your stages and bands that you'll be shooting today," he reasoned.
"Alright then let's start assigning our bands and stages then Hank," fellow photographer, Maggie, said. Somehow she was always so bubbly and energetic. No wonder she's dating Jack Barakat of All Time, I mean aside from the fact she's a natural blonde and has a nice set of boobs he can play with. He's actually a really nice guy and respects Maggie like no tomorrow. I wish I had a guy like him.
"Alright let's start with Juliet," Hank grabbed his copy of the day sheet, "You have main stage today Julie, and the bands you're shooting are Pierce the Veil, Of Mice and Men, and All Time Low."
"Make my beau look good Julie," Maggie joked.
"I make everyone look good, Maggie, no need to worry," I added.
My shoot with Pierce the Veil went amazingly. I got some killer shots that earned me praise from my photography idol, Adam Elmakias. The man can really capture a moment at a show. I loved all his pictures and for him to like some of the shots I was pulling off, really made feel confident in my skills as a tour photographer.
"What's up Warped Tour," the tall frontman of Of Mice and Men screamed as he and his fellow bandmates came out onto the stage, "We are Of Mice and Men and I want to see you guys go fucking insane!"
I began my work of capturing the show. The atmosphere the band formed over the crowd was electric. I have never been to a show where the crowd would instantly begin to move to the music. I was amazed. But I noticed the front man would look over at me and smile really wide for me, adding a wink here and there. I kept blushing and I felt so out of element around him.
"Thank you for the amazing vibes Warped Tour," the front man screamed out to the crowd, "We are Of Mice and Men! We'll see you around. Have a killer day bitches!"
"Sup chika," Vic from Pierce the Veil greeted me. He was a long time friend of mine and we were like brother and sister. I grew up in the same area of San Diego as him and his brother Mike. In fact, Vic and Mike used to baby sit me when I was younger so we have a bit of history.
"Nothing much," I replied, "Just enjoying my first full tour."
"Yeah for you to be on Warped Tour for your first full tour taking pictures is going to be rough," he replied, "But I think you'll come out of it even stronger as a photographer and get some new clientele.
"I hope so too," I smiled at him, "I need to rake in new clients so I can do more work to pay my rent on my studio/apartment."
"I'll talk to the guys about hiring you for our next headliner and maybe get Tony to let you shoot for his clothing line," Vic added in.
"Hey there's my surrogate little sister," Mike cheered as he wrapped his arms around me, picked me up, and spun me around.
"Mikey put me down before I get dizzy," I whined as he finally stopped spinning me. I started to sway a little thanks to him.
"So word is that Austin kept flirting with you during his set," Mike commented as he grabbed a beer from the cooler by the PTV bus.
"How did you find out about that," I asked, blushing at the subject matter.
"From the source of it," Vic replied, "Austin asked if we might had known who you were. I told him your name."
"What did he say after that," I asked him.
"That he's going to keep an eye out for you so he can maybe get to know you," he replied, "I think you should consider him an option. He's a gentleman and I know you could use a guy in your life. After the fallout with Vince, you deserve to be happy for a change, chika."

My first submission onto this site. I hope you guys like it. I would work on this on my laptop, but it putzed out on me last weekend and my mom is still fixing it.
