The Pasts

The Arrival

I took Mike's hand. He squeezed mine and leant down to kiss me. I smiled and heard Matty and Vic laugh from behind us. Mike turned around to glare and I stuck my tongue out. Abby hit them both on the arm and I smiled in thanks. Mike kissed me again as we walked down my garden path. "You won't be doing that for much longer," Matty laughed.
"What?" Mike asked.
"You obviously haven't been to a Playa gathering," he chuckled.
"Don't freak him out," I tried.
"Matty's right, Kay'," Abby thought.
"It'll be fine," I rolled my eyes. I reached my front door. I knocked it a few times and waited. It opened and I saw my mum. She smiled widely at me and went forward. I let go of Mike's hand and wrapped my arms around her. She rocked me from side to side. As we pulled away I grinned widely.
"You must come more often, Kayleigh. I miss you so much," Mum told me.
"I miss you too," I told her.
"You look so good. I'm so happy for you, sweetheart," she beamed.
"Thank you," Mum went to Mike and smiled. She hugged him gently and he kissed her cheek. I smiled and Mike did the same.
"Thank you for making my daughter happy," Mum said quietly.
"That's okay, Alyssa," Mike replied.
"Who don't I know?" Mum asked.
"You remember Matty obviously and Abby who I went to college with?" I asked.
"Of course," she nodded.
"Vic you haven't met," I said.
"Vic is my brother and my best man," Mike explained.
"Lovely to meet you. I must say if you cut your hair you'd look respectable," she joked.
"I suppose," Vic shrugged.
"She's kidding," I told him.
"Oh, well lovely to meet you too," he grinned.
"I was just getting him prepared for your grandmother, Kayleigh," Mum explained.
"Is Gran here?" I asked.
"Yes. She's with your aunt,"
"Great," I sighed. I walked past Mum and Mike followed me. Mum hugged Matty and Abby, then kissed Vic on the cheek. We walked through into the sitting room. I saw Gran sat talking with my aunt.
"Think happy thoughts," Matty muttered quietly from behind me.
"Hola Gran," I said. (Hello Gran).
"Kayleigh, ¿por qué llegas tarde?" Gran asked shortly. (Kayleigh, why are you late?)
"Estoy a tiempo. Es bueno saber que estás feliz de verme bien." I said dryly. (I'm not late. Good to know you're happy to see me though).
"No me pruebe." she warned. (Don't try me.)
"Aunt Ana," I smiled.
"Kayleigh, love. I'm so happy for you," she beamed. I actually love my aunt. She lived in Spain until she moved out to live close to Mum six years ago. My fondest childhood memories are of Aunt Ana giving me money and chocolate.
"Thank you," I told her.
"Which one is the groom?" she chuckled.
"That'd be me," Mike said. Mike walked forward. Aunt Ana stepped forwards as well. She pulled him into a hug and kissed him on the cheek.
"Well done," she teased. "I'm joking," she quickly added.
"And this is Vic, Mike's best man and brother," I said pointing to him. "And my Maid of Honour Abby, and best man Matty," I added, gesturing to them.
"Best man for the bride. Unconventional," she replied.
"See," Mike muttered.
"Tatuajes Vile. en necesidad de un corte de pelo y un lavado. Probablemente alta en estos momentos." Gran grumbled. (Vile tattoos. In need of a haircut and a wash. Probably high as we speak.) Vic started laughing and nudged Mike. Mike looked down to hide his smile. I rolled my eyes.
"Mike and Vic speak fluent Spanish," I told Aunt Ana.
"I'm so sorry. She isn't always like this," Aunt Ana muttered.
"She is," I added.
"Madre, para! La prometida de Kayleigh y su hermano ambos hablan español perfectamente. Así que ruego a mantener sus opiniones para sí mismo." Aunt Ana snapped. (Mother, stop! Kayleigh's fiancée and his brother both speak Spanish perfectly. So I beg you to keep your opinions to yourself.)
"No lo hacen." Gran said dismissively. (They do not.)
"Encantada de verte de nuevo, Sra. Playa." Mike grinned. (Lovely to see you again, Mrs. Playa.)
"Sí," Gran's eyes narrowed. (Yes.)
"Me alegro de conocerte por fin." Vic told her. (Good to finally meet you.)
"Gran, te acuerdas de mi amigo Matty y Abby de mi fiesta de cumpleaños hace unos años." I said. (Gran, you remember Matty and Abby from my birthday party a few years ago.)
"Que hago. Ella se ve respetable." (I do. She looks respectable.) I laughed. Vic muttered something to Matty and Abby, causing them to grin widely.
"Your rooms are ready," Mum informed us.
"Thank you," Mike smiled.
"Los hombres criados en esta ciudad no son buenos. Después se casó con Alyssa se había ido, por lo que seguro que le engendró dos hijos que no pagaría antes de irse." Gran said quietly. (Men bred in this country are no good. After Alyssa married he was gone, making sure he'd fathered two children he wouldn't pay for before he left.)
"¡Madre! si continúa usted pasará el resto del fin de semana Kayleigh está aquí lejos de nosotros." Mum snapped dangerously. (Mother! If you continue you will spend the remainder of the weekend Kayleigh is here away from us.) Gran waved her hands dismissively. She got up and we all watched her walk away. She went to the garden doors and walked out. "Don't let her bother you," Mum tried.
"I love listening to your Gran," Matty said.
"She likes me," Abby reminded us.
"She's worried you won't invite your family in Spain to the wedding," Aunt Ana explained.
"I'll show you to your rooms," Mum said. Mum started to walk into the corridor. We followed her and walked up the stairs. She opened the guest room door and gestured inside. "This is where your gran and Aunt Ana are staying this weekend," she explained. "This is where the men will be sleeping," she said and gestured inside the huge room Ryan had as his bedroom cross care centre. "And Kayleigh and Abby, you're here," Mum finished, pointing at the door to my old room.
"Great," I smiled.
"Sorry I couldn't put you and Mike together, love. But there's not enough space and I can't have anymore grief off of your gran,"
"Okay," I laughed. "Go get the bags," I told Mike.
"Come on," Mike told Vic and Matty. They walked away. Abby went inside our room and Mum walked over to me. She took my hand gently and squeezed.
"I like seeing you," she told me.
"Me too," I smiled and squeezed her hand.

It stands for Eating Disorder Not Otherwise Specified. My weight hasn't dropped to Anoriexia yet.
I'm still gutted though! Music is one of the only things that keeps me going and I couldn't be there for it. I heard about Jesse leaving :( x
What's EDNOS?

Also, honestly, Kellin isn't good live. The band is but he isn't. I guess that doesn't matter any more though since Jesse left the band yesterday.. :x
