Be not afraid, to love me

System Overload

I sat at the bar and downed my whiskey slowly as a group of guys entered the bar. There were 4 or 5 of them and they filled in the spots next to me. On one side sat a tall slender man with dark hair, aviators covering his eyes, and a leather jacket covering all but the tattoos on his neck. The other side of me however sat a ginger in a tanktop showing off some nice tattoos. As they all ordered their drinks the bartender came back over to try and flirt with me again.
"I'm not, nor will I ever be, drunk enough to have a little quickie with you. Just give me some Patron." I said cutting him off half way. The boys snickered at the remark as the bartender held a sour face at me.
"I'm Austin." As the guy said it I looked him up and down and flipped the hair out of me face. He winced looking at the scar. I sighed. My scar started half an once from my hair line and continued down to just below my bottom eyelid. I ran my hand through the half shave part of my hair.
"Good to know." I took my shot and sucked air between my teeth.
"I'm Alice."
"What happened?" he said making a motion to his face to ask about the only visible scar I couldn't cover up. I slipped off my jacket and made sure my sleeves didnt go past my wrists and smirked.
"Fighting with a Jabberwock." I said chuckling at a small joke I've told to too many people who never found it funny. The ginger smiled slightly.
"Takes some skills to slay a dragon and I don't think a pretty little thing like you could do it." He said slowly. People always flirt before they see the scars. Keep them out. No one will ever love you for them.
"I'm Alan by the way."
"I've got the scar to prove it. What makes you so creditable?" I smirked and leaned toward the bar a little more.
"Stop flirting and kiss already!" shouted one of the group. I laughed slightly and shook my head.
"Not my type, thanks anyway." I shouted back. Alan looked shocked but hid it quickly. Austin pulled off his jacket but as he did his shirt slipped down to reveal a thick red scar on his chest.
"I've got one of those." I almost elbowed Alan in the face reaching up to poke at my left set of ribs. Austin smiled.
"It's a lot more badass than fighting Jabberwockies" he chuckled.
