Who Will I Be For My Daughter?

I Know I Sound Crazy

It had been a week since the letter incident and nothing had happened since. My pregnancy was going fine and so far I hadn’t felt any morning sickness. Mia was going to playgroup three full days and week and Austin and the band were working on putting out an EP for the record company.

I literally had nothing to do while Austin was upstairs doing his music. I’d passed me course earlier in the year and had my diploma in Health and Social care but Austin didn’t want me to get a job just yet and I understood him I just needed to find something to do with myself.

I headed up to the studio and slid inside the soundproof room. Alan was sitting on one of the spinning chairs as Phil and Tino stood in the middle of the room playing their instruments and Austin was sitting on one of the sofas his head bopping up and down slowly.

“Taylor? You alright?” Alan asked as he span around.

“Fine. I just thought I’d come see what you’re up to.”

“Austin doesn’t like Tino’s drum part.”

“I didn’t say I didn’t like it. I said it doesn’t fit.” Austin said as he stood and put his hands on his hips. He ran his hands through his hair with an aggravated sigh before flopping back onto the sofa.

I just held my hands up and left the room. I wasn’t going to get involved with the band and all their issues. I stepped into the new to be nursery and put my hands on the door behind me and surveyed what to do with it. We were setting Mia’s crib up for the new baby and we were going to paint the room white and red because we aren’t sure what the baby is going to be.

I headed towards the crib and decided to put it together. I mean it can’t be that hard? I managed to get it together and it looked sturdy before the door slammed open and Austin stood in the doorway with an angry glare on his face.

“What’s wrong?”

“You shouldn’t be lifting heavy shit!” Austin yelled before storming up to me and snatching the screwdriver from my hand. I glared at him before turning my back on him but he continued to follow me.

“It doesn’t matter, Austin. It wasn’t heavy!” I yelled back and he turned to say something but a brick flew through the window and caught my forearm. I screamed as I heard the bone in my arm snap and I fell to the floor. Austin started shouting before the room filled with people. A note was attached to the brick.

Austin,

A brick won’t be the next thing to be inside your house. You should watch your little wife and daughter because the next thing won’t be a brick and it won’t be the house it goes through. Keep your eyes open.
All my love,

P
