Inside the checkpoint I heard someone call my name and I looked to my left. There was Pierce the Veil and the rest of the All Time Low crew. I smiled and waved at them. I got a huge hug from Jaime and Vic gave me a small hug.
"Hi guys, it’s been ages" I said and smiled.
"It’s been, glad to have you on tour again" Vic said. They greeted Asking Alexandria, All Time Low and of course Of Mice and Men that now joined us. Austin was still in shock and staring at me. Not able to comprehend what just had happened. He didn’t even knew if he should look at me or not because every time I met his eyes he looked for a second and then he looked away.
"Hey Austin, long time" Vic said and greeted him.
"Yeah" Austin said and he sounded distant.
"What’s wrong?" Vic asked, and frowned a little.
"Nah, I’m just tired" he lied and gave Vic a weak smile.
"You okay?" Tino asked and looked at Austin. Austin looked at him.
"Just tired" he said, and gave me a quick glance before he headed over to the seats a few meters away.

I was standing in line to get something to eat when my phone started to buzz. I picked it up and saw that it was Cory.
"You left me about an hour ago, I’m fine you know" I said and laughed.
"I just wanted to see if you found something to eat before the flight" he said.
"I’m standing in line right now actually, and yes they have vegan food" I said and smiled. He sighed in relief.
"I’ve been a worried man since the day you turned vegan, never know when you get to eat or not" he said.
"You will get more grey hair on your head if you worry too much" I said and shook my head.
"Well I just wanted to check up on you, call me when you land in London" he said.
"I promise I will, and if anything happens on the plane I want you to know I love you" I said, knowing that would make him tear up. But he would be happy over it.
"I love you too little girl" he said and chuckled, but I could hear a small sob leave his mouth. I smiled and we said out goodbyes.
"What would you like to have?" the woman asked, and I looked up.
"I would like your vegan wrap" I said and she smiled.
"finally someone ordering the vegan food" she said, and I smiled. Should I take that as something bad, or something good? Well whatever. She prepared the wrap and then handed it to me, and I paid for it. Then I walked over to a table where I saw Mike and Jaime.
"What are you eating?" Jaime asked when he saw my wrap.
"Some wrap" I said and shrugged.
"Can I take a bite?" he asked, and I looked at him. Then I sighed and handed him the wrap and sat down. He took a bite and then frowned.
"What is this? vegetarian?" he asked.
"Vegan" I said with a grin and Mike bursted out laughing.
"That’s what you get for taking other peoples food Jaime" he said.
"Fuck, you can have that back" he said and gave me my wrap. I laughed and took a bite. It tasted like heaven.
"God, this is good" I said and Jaime stared at me.
"Didn’t knew you were vegan" he said.
"Well I am, I can eat vegetarian if that’s the only thing they have but I prefer vegan food" I said and shrugged.
"You’re weird" he said and shook his head.

We stood in line for the next checkpoint and I saw that Austin still looked at me. He was not shocked anymore but he stared from time to time, trying to understand that I was Princess Lavender. I was the girl he had texted. I was the girl with the weird name, that he had so much in common with. Looking back at him he held his glance for a while before he looked away.
"What is it between you and Austin?" Mike asked and looked at me.
"He’s kinda surprised about something he got to know today, about me… I guess he’s just… a little bit angry and upset, and shocked" I said.
"About what?" he asked.
"I don’t want to talk about it" I said and shrugged.
"Okay" he said and gave me a weak smile.
We checked through the last checkpoint and we all headed towards our gates. Of Mice and Men and Asking Alexandria had theirs next to ours, so we all sat down together. Again.
"So who’s ready for some Europe time?" Danny asked.
"I am ready as fuck" Jack said and grinned.
"Who’s not ready?" Phil laughed.
"Essie, didn’t you have relatives in London?" Mike asked, and I got surprised he remembered that. I nodded.
"My mother is from Europe, and most of her family lives in London" I said.
"Your british?" Danny asked.
"Half american, and half german" I said and shrugged.
"German?" Phil said and looked surprised.
"Ja, Ich bin Deutsch" I said with a grin.
"Not that I understand a word of what you just said, but okay" Phil said and shrugged.
"I just said I’m german" I said with a laugh.
"How do you say ‘One beer please’ in german?" Ben asked.
"Ein Bier bitte" I said and smiled. Ben tried to say it but gave up after a while, laughing and I shook my head.
"How do you say I love you in german then?" Danny asked.
"Ich liebe dich" I said, and looked at him.
"Oh well thank you, I love you too" he teased and winked. We all laughed and I just shook my head while laughing with them. Danny was funny sometimes and the funny thing was that I knew he had been trying to flirt with me, and that right now… That had been him flirting with me, without the others really getting it.

Austin’s POV

When I heard her say her name. Princess Lavender Lucas. I choked on my Arizona ice tea. My heart dropped and I had just stared at her. Essie was “Her majesty” as I called her? It was just… a really big shock. A surprise. And here I was. Staring at her while we waited at out gates. She would go on a different plane. I would go to Heathrow and she would go to Stansted. And I had so many questions. Like…
Did she really just pick a random number? Or did she take it from Cory?
Did she take it from Cory because she wanted to become my friend?
Was it because she felt shy and that she couldn’t speak to me? But then again… It would have shown on her face, and in her eyes, if she had known it was me. She would have been much different. Or was she a really good actress?

Care to answer a few questions?

I swallowed and looked at my phone. I heard that her phone buzzed and I took a quick glance at her. First she ignored it but when it buzzed again she picked it up and answered.

From: Essie
What do you want to know?

From: Austin
Did you really pick a random number? Or did you take my number from Cory?

From: Essie
It was really random. Believe it or not, but it was.

From: Austin
How did you come over my number then? Why just my number?

From: Essie
Not that you would believe me I guess, but I actually dreamt about your number over and over again. Then I finally grew tired of it and decided to take a chance and send a text.

From: Austin
Dreamt about it? Seriously?

From: Essie
When I heard Alan in the background everything fell into place. All my thought about thinking that I recognized your story. When I got to know that it was you… Well then I kinda understood why.

From: Austin
Knowing that you are Princess Lavender, Her Majesty, is actually both surprising and not. A few things finally fell into place as well, but well… I am shocked that it was you. I could never have guessed that.

From: Essie
But now you know

Then they called their boarding number and I looked up from my phone. She took her cabin suitcase and she walked with Mike and Jaime to the gate. It felt weird seeing her leave. I had no idea when we would meet again. How long it would take.

From: Austin
Would it be weird if I kept texting you?

She read the text and now she looked surprised and looked at me. Then she gave me a weak smile and shook her head.
"I guess not" she said, loud enough for me to hear, and boarded her plane.
