Too Young To Live This Way

Everyone You Once Knew Has Turned Their Backs

I stumbled into the hotel room and dropped my bag on the counter. I wasn’t sure what happened only that I’d woken up in the alley with an old man hovering over me. I’d taken a taxi back to the hotel where I was hoping Austin was going to be. Out of curiosity I pulled my phone from bag and my eyes widened. Ten new messages and five missed calls.

I opened the little message folder that was on the phone and the messages proclaimed all of them were from Austin.

Austin: I’m sorry. I’ll meet you back at the hotel.
Austin: You’ve been gone a while now. Hurry back.
Austin: Where are you, Taylor?!
Austin: Taylor please answer my calls!
Austin: This isn’t funny anymore!
Austin: Come on, baby. Come back to the hotel.
Austin: You’re scaring me now. Please come back.
Austin: I’m coming to find you.
Austin: I couldn’t find you!
Austin: Please Taylor. You’re really scaring me. I don’t know what has happened to you.

I clicked the voicemail and the messages were left by Austin all saying the same as in the messages with a few bad remarks mixed into it. I rubbed my head and winced as I poked something tender. I shrugged to myself and slipped from shoes before heading into the bedroom part of the hotel.

I flipped the light on and was stunned by the sight that greeted me. Austin was sitting on the bed with his arms around his knees as tears streamed down both of his cheeks. His breathing was erratic and he looked up at me with panic in his eyes.

I had to make sure I was seeing the right thing as he knelt on the bed and held his palms together before whispering something. Tears had made his shirt soaking wet and made me think how long he’d been crying and panicking for.

“Taylor!” he yelled as he dove off the bed and pulled me into his arms. I winced as he squeezed me a little too tight. He pushed me back gently away from him and he was staring at my forehead.

“Oh God! That happened because of me.” Austin dropped to his knees in front of me and tears ran down his face even faster than earlier. “If we didn’t fight you wouldn’t be hurt. You shouldn’t have left me. Why did you leave?”

“I didn’t leave, Austin.” I whispered to him as I knelt in front of him. I bought his face up and gently wiped away the tears on his cheek. “Now calm down. You’re going to make yourself ill.”
“You wouldn’t know what it would do to me if you left me. I can’t protect you if you’re gone.”

Austin cupped my face and kissed my nose, my cheeks and my forehead. “I swear I would die without you.”

“Austin. Take deep breaths for me.” I breathed in deep and watched as he copied me. Soon enough his breathing had slowed down but the tears kept coming.

“What happened to your beautiful face?” he asked as he stroked his finger over the bump I knew was on my forehead.

“I tripped over something. I passed out. I’m so sorry, Austin.”

“When you leave it feels like my heart is being torn from my chest. No matter where you go. I can’t be without you. It makes me sound possessive and needy but I don’t care. I need you with me always. No matter what. Promise me you’ll always be by my side now.”

“Austin.”

“Promise me, Taylor.” I didn’t like the look he had on his face right now so I nodded to him. “Say it.”

“I promise I won’t leave you.”

“You wouldn’t understand what would happen if you left me.” Austin stroked his hands down my arms and across my stomach, checking for injuries I assumed until he reached around and unzipped the back of my dress.

“What are you doing, Austin?”

“I need to be inside you. I need to know you’re alright.” He muttered against my neck, which he’d started kissing.

“As long as you’re calm. I don’t want you when you’re in a panic.”

“I’m so much better now you’re here.” Austin turned my face to his and kissed me gently on the lips. There wasn’t any tongue, just simply lips and passion. I stood up and he tugged my dress down and off before reaching up to take my panties off. I reached up to take my bra off but he stopped my hands.

“Leave it on.”

I nodded at him as he stripped quickly. He knelt on the floor again and I copied him before reaching my hand out and encircling him with my hand. His breath hitched as he tugged me closer. I wrapped my legs around his waist as he laid me back on the floor.

There were no words exchanged between us as he gently pushed himself inside me. I groaned quietly and he bent down to wrap his arms around my back and lifted me so I was practically sitting on his lap as he gently moved in and out of me.

I vaguely heard a phone ringing in the background as I cupped Austin’s head in my hands and bought him up to me for small pecking kisses. I moaned as he twirled his hips and sped his thrusts up. Soon enough I felt like I was going to come apart at the scenes.

I moaned again as he reached between our bodies and flicked his finger over my clit and with a smile I exploded around him. He lasted a few more thrusts before I felt warmth coating my insides. He gently slipped out before tugging the blanket off the bed and wrapping us in it.

“I’m sorry I reacted that way.” He whispered as he rubbed his hand down my back.

“Shh, it’s all over now.”

“You’re my world, Taylor.” Austin’s voiced started to slur and I knew he was close to falling asleep. I kissed his chest with a smile.

“I love you, Austin.”

We spent the next four days sightseeing in Venice before we headed to the airport for Russia. I wasn’t sure Russia was such a good idea now but Austin seemed more excited about this one than he did for Venice. I had my headphones in my ears as we headed towards our destination since Austin had fallen asleep when we’d gotten on the plane.

I hummed the tune to the song I was listening to and looked out towards the window. It was crazy that we were above the clouds. Everywhere I looked all I could see was the fluffy white things. The stewardess headed down the aisle and I flagged her down.

“What can I get you, hon?” her accent was heavy with Italian and I smiled.

“A coke for me and can you bring him a can of Monster? I’m sure he’ll want it when he wakes up.”

“Of course.” The woman winked at me before heading away for a few moments before returning with our drinks. She placed mine on the table in front of me and Austin’s on my table too.

“Thank you.”

I shoved the cold can under Austin’s bare arm and waited a few moments until he body went ridged and he bolted upright. He wiped the sleep from his eyes and glared at me.

“Wake up, sunshine.” I smirked at him as he continued to glare at me.

“Next stop Russia.” He grumbled as he stood up to go to the bathroom.
