Pretty in Pink

005

“Are you nervous?” Austin grinned looking over at Tinsley in the seat beside him. The rest of the band was in the seats behind them as they drove to Disneyland.

“Why would I be nervous?” She questioned with a tight lipped smile, she was unable to give a full blown one to him at the moment.

“The boys of Sleeping with Sirens are chill dude, they are just like us so don’t worry.” He reassured her even though she didn’t say out loud that she was worried of what they would think. Just because the boys in Of Mice & Men liked her it didn’t mean everyone else would.

“I just don’t fit in with you guys; don’t I just look like the odd ball?” She giggled, looking behind her as Alan said something that made Tino laugh. All she could see was tattoos and shaggy hair galore. She had a feeling the Sleeping with Sirens were going to be the same way.

“No, it’s actually more like you are surrounded by a bunch of odd people and you’re a precious little angel.” He replied in a high pitched voice, reaching over to pinch her cheek.

The car dropped them off in front of Disneyland and a second car pulled behind them, men from security stepping out. They were mostly there for Tinsley’s sake; people were too scared to follow Austin and his crew around, but Tinsley had paparazzi watching her every move. Tinsley noticed almost immediately that she couldn’t keep up with the long strides of the five men in front of her.

“What’s the matter babydoll? Can’t keep up?” Alan grinned, stopping and turning to look at her.

“In my defense, Garfield.” She grinned back finally reaching up to the men who had stopped walking and were watching her as she caught up with them. “I have much shorter legs than the rest of you.”

“Touché.” Tino nodded, running his hands through his hair.

“Hop on my back then short stack.” Austin smile moving his finger to call her towards him, but she shook her head.

“I’m wearing a dress.” She pouted, smoothing her hands over the skirt of it like she was trying to get out the nonexistent wrinkles.

“Come on now,” He leaned forward and grabbed her hand, pulling her towards him. “It’s only going to hike up a little I promise.”

“Fine.” She stubbornly agreed as she hopped on his back when he crouched down. She loved being up at Austin’s height, she could look down and see the top of other people’s heads. Plus the bonus of getting to lay her head against his and take in his scent. She could never understand how someone who looked so intimidating smelled so sweet.

“Woah, wait!” Alan called walking closer to Austin and Tinsley, “What is that on your thigh, baby doll.” She could have almost smiled when she heard that sentence if she weren’t in such shock of how high her skirt had obviously hiked. He had obviously subconsciously given her the nickname ‘baby doll’ and she actually liked it. None of her ‘friends’ ever cared to give her a nickname, half of them probably knew less about her than Austin did in the short couple of weeks they had known each other.

“Oh my goodness.” She gasped unlocking one of her arms from Austin’s neck so she could reach behind her and run her hand over her bottom to see how far the skirt was up. “You can’t see my panties can you?”

“No.” He said in an uninterested voice that actually made her feel better. He wasn’t attracted to her in that way so he didn’t pay attention to her body or attire in that way. It seemed to be the same for the other guys who were now paying attention too. “That is a very big tattoo, Tinsley. I would have never thought, like I’m really astounded right now.”

“Yeah, me too.” An unknown higher pitched voice said from a spot near her. She looked over and saw an average height man, with dark hair and beautiful bright eyes. “That’s quite a piece you got there, sweetness.”

Her eyes were wide, “Austin put me down.” He chuckled as she swung her legs and he gently helped her lower from his height to the ground. “It feels like everyone is staring at my butt, I can’t deal.”

“Aww, she can’t deal.” The man she didn’t know said in a voice as if he were talking to a baby and pinched her cheek almost like Austin had done before. “I’m Kellin Quinn.”

“I’m not 5, man.” She pouted, smacking his hand away as she formed her mouth into a pout. “Don’t go around pinching my cheeks.”

“You’re just so sweet.” He laughed at her as she crossed her arms. She wasn’t realizing that all of these band boys were quickly gaining a soft spot for her the moment they met her. “I’m getting a toothache around you just like I do when I’m with my little daughter!”

“How did we go from my tattoo to talking about how sweet you think I am?” She questioned, eyeing him curiously. “You’re not going to comment about how it’s weird for someone like me to have a tattoo like that? I’ve been waiting for it to come from one of you.” She glanced around at all the guys; they looked back at her and grinned but continued walking until they reached the gate.

Kellin threw his arm over Tinsley’s shoulder and gave her a bright smile. “Tattoos are for everyone, sweetness. You don’t have to have a certain personality or occupation to get one.”

“Oh well, I guess I didn’t mean for it to be such a shock value when people see it, but I’m hoping it makes people second guess the kind of person I am.” She grinned looking over at him. It was weird to her how quickly she was latching on to these people. It’s like she was in their ‘crew’ before she had even met Austin. Maybe they weren’t so locked down on who they hung out with, they were willing to befriend anyone who accepted who they were and they would do the same for anyone else.

“I mean yeah…” He started with a shrug. “If you were to say you had a tattoo, I would have thought…” He removed his arm from her shoulders and waved his hands in front of his face with spirit fingers. “..Butterfly!

“That’s a bit unoriginal.” She rolled her eyes, sticking her tongue out at him.

“Well you’re a bit unexpected.” He replied mimicking her actions. “Everyone judges when they first see a person, but then the surprises that keep on coming from that moment on are what make it or break it. It’s important to give things chances that are out of your comfort zone. The outcome may be better than you expect. ” He gave her a genuine smile with a wink and a light rub on her back before walking off to talk to a guy she hadn’t been introduced to yet. She wasn’t exactly sure what he had meant, but she had a feeling he was talking about her ‘relationship’ with Austin and all the doubts that might have been apparent to have.

“Hey, doll!” She heard Alan call over the crowd of people around her at Disneyland. He was wearing Minnie Mouse ears that had a bow on them, obviously intended for girls. He struck a pose before asking, “You want my ears?”

She grinned and happily skipped towards him, her security guards in tow. “Mine!” She yelled ripping them off of his head and moving over by Austin in front of the mirror to put them on. She smiled brightly as the turned to him, “Do I look pretty?”

“You always look pretty.” He replied back as he fixed one of curls that had gotten stuck in the headband of her Minnie mouse ears.

“Not always.” She giggled and could help but keep smiling when she noticed that he hadn’t let go of the curl he had fixed, instead he was playing with it twirling it around his long fingers. “You didn’t stick around to see the way I look when I wake up in the morning.”

He scoffed and dropped the curl he was playing with. “Oh puh-lease!” He replied in a fake smart ass tone. “If you can look beautiful while you have a fever of 103, then you look beautiful all the time. There is no doubt.”

“There could be.” She licked her lips and made sure her ears were snug on her head.

“It’s unlikely.” He replied, throwing his arm over her shoulder much like Kellin had done and walked with her over to Alan, Tino, Aaron, and Phil. The boys of Sleeping with Sirens were joking around behind them.

“Austin let go of my wifey.” Alan pouted, putting his hands on his hips.

Your wifey?” Austin question, discreetly reaching his long arm that was locked around Tinsleys shoulder down to grab her hand and locked their fingers together.

“Yeah Minnie and Mickey are meant to be.” He said matter-of-factly with a nod, Tinsley tried to stifle a laugh, but failed. “What are you laughing at?”

“It’s ironic.” She giggled and her laughing slowing down. “You have mouse ears on, but you’re a crazy cat lady.”

Alan gasped and Tinsley felt Austin’s deep chuckle in her side. “You are so right! Austin take them, I can’t wear them anymore!”

“Nope!” Kellin yelled, walking passed Austin and taking the ears from him. “Tinsley, will be my wifey for the day since my real wifey is not here. It’s only fair.”

“You’re all ridiculous; the Minnie ears were a mistake.” She admitted about to take them off when Austin’s hands covered hers.

“Awh, don’t take them off!” He grinned, cupping her jaw. “You look so cute in them.”

She had a wide smile as she stared up at him, “Well damn mate, just kiss her already then.”

It was an unfamiliar British accent this time and Austin snapped his head over in surprise. “Ben!”

“Austin!” He replied back in the same voice Austin had use while saying his name and looked down at Tinsley greeting her as well. “And Tinsley!”

Tinsley cocked and eyebrow while tilting her head at him in confusion. “Does everyone know who I am already?”

“Well we may be ‘rock stars’, but that doesn’t mean we don’t turn on the telly every now and then, yeah?” He smiled and patted her arm before walking over and greeting all the other band members.

Tinsley tried to walk forward, but there was a gentle tug from Austin’s hand before she got too far and she was pulled back to him. He wrapped his arms around her much like he had done when he hugged her at the studio. Instead of nuzzling his head into her neck he pushed his lips against hers. She quickly locked her arms around his neck and she was standing on the very tips of her shoes; Austin almost had her dangling from his neck. They continued to let their mouths work against each other, but they slowly broke away staring at each other as they heard hoots and hollers coming from a short distance away.

“Damn, sweetness!” Kellin yelled with a huge smile as he looked between Tinsley and Austin. “That was feisty; maybe you’re not so sweet after all.” Tinsley still had her arms locked around Austin’s neck and she felt her cheeks heat up at Kellin’s words as she hid her face in Austin’s chest.
