Happiness Is A Warm Gun

Chapter One

I grabbed a salad from the lunch line, like I always did before making my way to the table where my girls were all sitting. I had my salad along with a fork and a packet of dressing in one hand while my phone was in the other, with my eyes locked onto it. I was reading a text my step dad had sent me about how he and my mother were going out of town on business in a few hours. He was going to get my car from the shop beforehand but will leave my moms keys in the office for me to drive myself home after school. I was happy that they were trusting me enough to dive my moms car, and there was a smile on my face; until someone ran into me, causing me to nearly fall on my ass.

"Hey! Watch where you're going asshole!" I shouted, looking up to see who the culprit was. Of course it was the one and only Austin Carlile. "Me? Princess why don't you take your eyes off that phone for five seconds and maybe you'd be able to see what really happened." He grabbed my wrist, "You ran into me. Sorry to inform you but the whole school doesn't run around you, so go ahead and get your head out of your ass." By time he had let go of my wrist, everyone in the cafeteria had gone silent and was watching us. I had barely realized that the whole stunt of him grabbing my wrist was his way of slipping me a note. I only noticed it when I felt something scratching my wrist under my bracelet; I just left it there as I made my way over to my girls. "Oh my gosh! Jude! Are you alright??" Kayla asked, as if I had just been mauled by a bear.

I rolled my eyes are her, she acted as if things were always so dramatic. "Yes Kayla I'm fine. Does anyone want this? I've completely lost my appetite. I couldn't eat a single bite after all that." I lied. In honest truth, I was starving. I hadn't eaten in over 24 hours and would kill for some food, but I can't. I'm trying to lose some weight to keep my spot at top flyer on the cheer squad. Frenchi smiled and took the salad out from in font of me before eating it, while my attention went back to my phone. There was a text from an unknown number.

From: Unknown
Message: You'll be paying for
that one doll ;)

I quickly closed out of the message, not wanting any of the girls asking questions about it. I sighed and began fixing the beanie that covered my dirty blonde hair, "I think I'm going to just sign myself out and go home. I don't feel too good today." I explained; causing Michelle to immediately let out a gasp. "What about cheer practice?? You've never missed a single practice, don't start now! We need you!!" Kayla, Frenchi and I all looked at her like she was retarded. "Do you ever pay attention? Coach cancelled practice because her little boy is sick. We don't have practice again until next week nimrod." Frenchi explained to the odd girl out. So with that, I excused myself from the table and began making my way to the office to leave. I could feel everyone's eyes on me.

"Jude! How are you dear?" Mrs. Jameson smiled as I walked into the office. She was about eighty five years old and her hair was completely grey. Her blue eyes stood out to me more than her personality. "I just, need to sigh myself out. I don't feel too good." I explained to her. She simply nodded and moved things around her desk before pulling a clipboard out and handing it to me to fill out. I signed my name, put the time, the date, and the reason of why I was leaving. "Oh yes dear, your parents left these keys for you." She told me. I smiled and took them from her before finishing filling out the clipboard in my hands. Once I was done, I handed the clipboard back before walking out of the office. There were very few people in the hallways that I was walking through, but those who were, were definitely watching me.

Once I got home, I dropped my bag on the stool next to the door, before closing and locking the door behind me. I shrugged the blue over shirt off of my shoulders and dropped it over the back of the couch and making my way to my bedroom. On my way up the stairs, I pulled the note out of my bracelet to read. It was a small slip of paper with Austin's hand writing scribbled over it.

Keep your bedroom window open. Midnight.

I rolled my eyes, crumpling the piece of paper up and throwing it in the trash bin in the corner of my bedroom. I took my shoes off and put them back in the box that they belonged in before slipping my skinny jeans off. I didn't bother with putting on any shorts, and instead put my hair up in a messy bun. Since my parents are out of town, and no one is around then I plan on walking around in a shirt and my underwear just like I always do. It was only about 3:55 so I still had a while till my visitor was supposed to be dropping by; so I was planning on taking some headache medicine and taking a nap until I needed to actually be awake.
