This One is for You.

A Night To Forget

The next week goes the same. Press, show, signing, press. Show, signing, press. over and over again. In between shooting the bands I've been hanging out with Brandon. I know Austin said to be careful, but he's been. We hangout and talk and laugh. We haven't kissed but the hugs are good.

"So, do you want to go bus hoping tonight?" He asks while we sit outside his bus on fold up chairs.
"With you?" He nods excited. "No." I say sarcastically.
"But I wanted to introduce the pretty lady I've been talking to, to all of my friends."
"Can't wait to meet her tonight." I say standing up, and he does too. He's giggling and he moves close to me.
"It's a date." he says before surprising me with a kiss on my lips. I smile during this kiss and then slowly pull away. "More of this tonight." He says moving in again, laying his lips on mine.
"Maybe." I wink when I pull away, and start heading towards the bus.
"Wow someone is happy." Austin comments as I make my way into the bus.
"I was asked on a date... I think." I say leaning against the wall.
"Brandon..." He slightly goes off.

"Yup." I say, he doesn't seem excited, but I am. I grab clothes and change into a teal "mullet" dress and a strapless shirt. I add some jewelry and my favorite studded heals. I feel good, I can't wait to be shown off tonight. Brandon is a great guy.

Austin's Point Of View.

Lily is nowhere to be found at 1:30 in the morning... bus call is in half an hour. Where could she be? I text and call her phone over and over again. I'm more worried than angry. I need to go look for her.

"We're going to look too." Alan says with Aaron, Tino, and Phil behind him. I smile at them, it's great that they have my back. We all go separate ways. People are walking around drunk, laughing or just wobbling, some all over each other. I stop friends and ask if I've seen Lily, but none of them have since earlier in the night. My heart is racing so fast. I see Brandon outside of his bus with a girl, but I know it's not Lily it's not the outfit she was wearing, and her hair is blonde. I am infuriated.

"Where the fuck is she!?" I say without even thinking, I grab him by his shirt. He grins and pushes me off of him.

"Listen your little girlfriend went off by herself. Not my problem." He scoffs. I feel my blood boil under my skin, I grit my teeth and feel my hands turn to rock hard fists. I don't even think, I just haul off, and luckily Alan grabs me away.

"Listen we found her, but she wants you. She won't come with us." Alan's saying trying to catch his breath. "You didn't answer your phone... " He trails off. I'm still glaring at Brandon. I still wanted to punch him, but I take a breath and follow Alan. "He's not worth it." he says leading me to where Lily was.

She sat on the asphalt against a bus. Her legs curled up to her chest, her head between her bare knees scratched and bleeding. Her teal skirt is ripped and her shoes are scuffed. Her hair is messy. I kneel down beside her, and I lightly touch her arm, also bleeding.

"Au-Austin?" She mumbles her head still buried in her knees. The boys walk a little away from us, so we have privacy.

"Yeah, it's me." I say quietly. She shifts her body to and grabs onto me for dear life. She doesn't say anything, but I know something has happened. I don't ask questions now though. I pull her closer to me, as if that was possible and gently stroke her hair.

"Hehurtme." She mumbles. "It'sallmyfault." She says crying. "Iamstupid." I can tell she's beyond drunk, her words collide together. I want to know what happened but I don't have the heart to ask.

"Austin, we need to get on the bus." Alan says coming back over to us. I nod, and lift her into my arms. She won't look at me, I cradle her like a child and carry her to the bus. I head straight to the back lounge for privacy. She still sits on my lap, in my arms, her face is buried in my chest. She's still gripping onto me.

"Lily, please tell me what happened." I beg. "Please." She doesn't say anything for a few minutes.
"Austin I love you." She says. "I mean I really love you." She says finally looking up at me. Her mascara and eyeliner ran down her cheeks. She lightly touches my face and smiles, but looks away.
"I know you do." I whisper.
"I didn't want tohave sexwith him." she mumbles. "I said no!" She gets louder and I shudder at what she might tell me next, I feel a lump in my throat, and fire in my chest. "I fought, but I fell." She say lifting her arm weakly. A sigh of relief. "I thought he liked me." She says. "Nope." her eyes are shut, but she places her forehead to my chest.

"Anything else?"
"I need more alcohol." She says and stands up wobbling, but falls back to the floor. She starts sobbing. I grab her and pull her close to me.
"Why does everyone hate me?" She asks. "Why aren't I good enough?" She says into my chest. I know she's not going to remember anything I say now so I just hold her, bringing her back to the couch. She gets quiet again.
"Lily, please don't cry any more." I whisper. "Lily you are perfect to me." I find these words leaving my lips so easily.

For an hour I sit with her, until she falls asleep, I bring her into my bunk with me, and lightly stroke her hair as she sleeps. She's so beautiful, serene even with the black smudges running down her face. Even with her hair a mess, I've never looked at her this way. She was beautiful.

Lily.

My head is pounding before I even open my eyes. I don't want to find out where I am, I'm hesitant, I'm scared. An arm is reached around me, I'm hoping it's not Brandon's not after what I start to remember from last night, I cringe. I slowly open my eyes, it's still dark, but I notice the arm around me has familiar tattoos. Austin. Thankfully. I trace his arm, softly and I see his eyes quickly open and he smiles.
"Hey." I whisper. "I'm sorry." He turns to face me.
"It's okay." He says. "I owe you for the other night." He whispers and laughs quietly. I feel sick, but I don't throw up. I just turn around away from Austin and bring his warmth closer to me. The air conditioner has left me freezing, and Austin will work better than the blanket.

Hours must have passed, and if it wasn't for this day off, we would have been screwed. We wake up at the same time deciding to lay there for a while. Then we finally get up take turns showering and getting ready.
"Alan texted me." Austin says as I'm finishing putting on some mascara.
"and?" I say looking at him.
"We're meeting them for lunch, so come on!" He says. I smile and follow as we make our way to a car, that takes us through this new city, and to the place we're meeting in. It's nice to be together for lunch this afternoon.
"Guys, I just wanted to thank you all and apologize." I say mid way through eating the pasta I ordered. "You're the greatest for coming to get me, and I'm sorry for making that happen... it won't happen again."
"You're one of us, we couldn't leave you behind." Phil says.
"Yeah if the camera was an instrument, you'd be a part of the band." Tino says.
"But you're still a part of the family." Aaron adds. I can't help but grin. Austin touches my knee beneath the table smiling at me, I don't need any explanation from him. I know he's my best friend. I feel so loved right at this moment, and I love these boys with all of my heart.

"Yall are the best." I say in a country accent. "Thank you." I say normally. "Cheers to Of Mice & Men, and our family." I raise my diet Pepsi up and thy follow with their beers or soda's we all clink our glasses together.

We go our separate ways to explore the town together, decide to catch a movie and go out to dinner. We pick up food for the bus, and head back to the venue. Austin and I play some video games together and as it starts getting dark he tells me he wants to show me something. The rest of the boys have gone out with friends, so Austin and I are completely alone. He starts climbing up the bunks and on the ceiling he pulls the sun roof open and then opens it to the sky. He climbs up and out.

"Come on." He says laughing at my confusion and I follow him up and out to sit on top of the bus. I can see over every other bus and even though I'm a bit scared I stay standing looking out over them all and the sky turning black. Clouds were rolling in but we didn't seem to mind at this point. Austin's sitting looking at what I am, and I join him. He hands me a beer out of the six pack he has with him and I take a sip.
"This is great" I whisper. "I absolutely love it." I say looking at him. He smiles, and for the first time in years, I feel something in my stomach when he does. I quickly turn my head out of confusion.

"I'm glad you're having fun with me this summer... I hate being away from you." He sighs. "I do love touring though." My eyes focus back on him. His facial features are so handsome. His lightly sun-kissed skin with freckles spreading across it. I can't see his brown eyes they're hidden by sunglasses, and like he read my mind, he takes them off.

"Thank you." I say putting my head to my knees and just looking at him.

Austin's P.O.V.

"For what?" I ask confused. Her smile flashes before my eyes, bright white, like always. Her brown eyes glimmer with happiness, and she shuts them for a minute but the smile stays.
"All of this." She says finally opening them. Her natural wavy brown hair is falling gently around her face, and flying away with the slight breeze. I feel my stomach dip, as if I was on a roller coaster. What am I thinking.
"All of what?" I ask. I completely forget our conversation, my eyes are on her pink lips.
"You know bringing me here." I say. "I wouldn't be here without you." Thunder rumbles above us.
"Like I said, I hate being away from you..." I say these words with utmost sincerity. How didn't I notice before, how beautiful, how great... I must be going crazy...

Lily's P.O.V.

Am I going crazy? My heart is beating out of my chest, I'm afraid he might see it. The thunder above us crashes again, but this time, it starts to pour. I look up at the sky, and can't help but laugh. I'm soaked within minutes, as Austin tries to open the closed sun-roof.
"It won't budge!" He says. "Maybe I locked it by accident ..." He says over the loud clatter of rain on bus roof tops.
"Come on!" I say, I know there's a ladder down the back and we giggle with each other carefully crawling off the top of the buss and down the ladder. I wait for him to get over to me and grab his hand into my own.
"I feel like we're in that scene, in the notebook!" I laugh as we start to run to the front of the bus.

"We're missing something." He says to me and when I turn to ask him, what could possibly be missing, I'm being pushed against the bus, Austin's lips parting my own. I can't breathe at this very moment, my breath has been taken from my body. Why haven't I noticed this before. Why haven't we tried this.... before? His body is pinning me against the bus, and my hands grip onto his hair for more of these lips. His hands are running down my back holding my hips close to his. I'm loving this kiss, I have never felt this before. The passion, the love, the lust. Everything is coming clear to me, as our lips move together. It never worked with Derek because I was in love with Austin. My best friend...
