Alan's pov
"Austin are you ready yet?" I shouted to Austin who was still upstairs.
"I'm not going."
"Come on man. We had this conversation yesterday. Please? You promised."
"Well Iris promised she would spend the rest of her life with me but she broke that promise. Promises don't mean anything anymore Alan."
It's been a week since Austin proposed and Iris told him no.
"Right. That is it." I said whilst running up the stairs two at a time. "AUSTIN ROBERT CARLILE GET YOUR SMELLY ASS OUT OF THIS BED RIGHT NOW."
"What the fuck has gotten into you Ashby?" He said raising his head from the pillow it was once buried in.
"What the fuck is wrong with me? Are you shittin' me Austin? She said 'no' big deal. You stormed off before she could explain anything."
"Oh so you know why she said it do you?"
"Yes, Austin I do. Now will you get in the shower before I put you there myself." I raised my eyebrow at him.
"No." He said bluntly. Right that is it. I ran around to the side of the bed Austin was on, threw back the covers and picked the smelly boy up in my weak arms and took him into the en suite.
"If you are not down stairs ready in the next hour you won't be seeing Iris anytime soon." And with that I left the room puffing with anger.
----1 hour later----
"Austin it's time to go dude."
"Y-Yeah, i'm coming." Austin stuttered.
He came down the stairs in a Aspire & Create tank top, blue board shorts and vans.
"You okay buddy?" Austin nodded. I took the fragile boy outside and into my car along with two surf boards.
Iris's pov
I got to the beach and saw Alan and Austin already riding the waves. God how I have missed Austin this week.
I put my towel down. Alan spotted me and started talking to Austin. I sat down because it looked like Austin was refusing to come over.
10 minutes past and Austin finally gave in. I said hi to Alan and gave him a hug.
"Hi Austin." I said with a small smile. He just nodded in response.
"Can I talk to you please?" He just nodded again. I gave a look to Alan mentally telling him that he should go back on his board.
"I'll head back out. Shout if you need anything." Alan said whilst running back towards sea.
I sat down on the towel and Austin followed.
"I-" I started talking but Austin cut me off.
"Why did you say 'no.' Do you not want to spend the rest of your life with me?"
"It's not like that."
"What do you mean it's not like that? Is there someone else, is that what it is. You love me but you love someone else. I really thought you were the one and I still do - I just didn't think you were going to be another Gielle.." Austin said whilst getting up and walking away. I saw him brush away a sly tear rolling down his face.
"Austin wait." He didn't stop. "Austin please, let me explain." "So all you see me as is another Gielle. Another cheating wife. Someone that goes around sleeping with men god knows how many times." I practically screamed at him. "Someone that falls pregnant with another guys baby." I said quietly as tears began streaming down my face. He stopped dead in his tracks. I slowly started to walk closer to him, his back still turned towards me. I could here slight sniffles coming from him. "You're my world Austin. I would never in a million years cheat on you." By now I was stood right behind him. "I love you baby." He spun around and cupped my cheeks with the palm of his hands and kissed me passionately. "Why did you say 'no' then?"
