This Time I'll Make You Proud

"Thirty fucking dollars?" I groaned as I picked up the auxiliary cable from it's Wal-Mart shelf. "So much for low pricing."
I took the cable and walked toward the front of the store. The other day I had slammed my original one in the car for after leaving a shoot. As I walked past the CD aisle, I remembered that I had never gotten another self titled Slipknot CD all those years ago. I made a quick turn down the aisle and made a search for the CD. My long, manicured fingers wrapped over the small square case and plucked it from the bin. Satisfied with my findings, I turned and began walking down the aisle. Well I tried to. I slammed into a person who was significantly taller then me, dropping my phone and the CD right after.
"Jesus fucking Christ could you watch where you're going?" I yelled as I collected my things.
"S-sorry," he stuttered.
I froze. I knew that voice.
"Austin?" I looked up and came face to face with none other then Austin Carlile.
"Oh my god Lilly," he said quietly. "How are you? How've you been?"
"Good. I've been great actually. How about you? How's the band?" I asked while we walked to the register.
"Fantastic. We just got back from the UK actually." he laughed and ran a hand through his hair as he followed me. I placed the cd and the cable on the belt so I could pay for them. Austin let out a small laugh when he saw what I was buying.
"Oh wow that's awesome!" I smiled and handed the teenager my credit card.
Austin and I walked out to our cars together, the silence anything but awkward.
"So I guess this is it," he said when we reached my car.
"Yeah," I mumbled softly. "It was great seeing you Aust."
"You too Lil," he whispered.
With that said, we both got in our cars and drove to our separate homes. I was stopped at a light and I rested my forehead against the steering wheel. Seeing Austin caused my brain to replay every memory of him it had. I sat up when I heard honking coming from behind me. In five minutes I was parked in front of my apartment complex. I looked up at my window. There was no one waiting for me. It was an empty home. I grabbed at my phone after it vibrated to see a text from someone.

Hey, you wanna go grab some coffee with me?
I smirked at my phone before typing out my reply.

Actually, you're right. I think dinner is a better idea for right now.
I bit my lip. Did I really want to do this with him all over again? Tears welled up in the corners of my eyes and I shook my head while I typed.

Meet me at Antonio's on fifth street in ten minutes.
"Well, here we go again," I sighed and backed out of my spot.
